The book release party was last night, but I didn't go. Some local photographer friends told me that I had a couple photos published, so I stopped in at the book store when I went to the doctor this morning. I have a full page spread on page 38 with this photo. That made my day!
LOL! I can't find the other one so either they were mistaken, it's one of the few pages they have small photos on and don't list the photographer's name or photo details... or I'm too excited over this one to recognize it.
The fun thing is this... this year's horse carriage parade is Saturday! Yippee!
Plus... now I know some of the other photographers who made the book and they have great photos published. One of my photographer friends captured the brilliant cover shot.
So I'd like the thank photomat for making my day forever !!!!! I'm still shaking I'm so flipping elated!!!!!! {explored thank you!!!!!!!!}

Crazy times in the newsroom right now and my doggone hand is giving me fits but that happens once in awhile. Having fun though and am looking forward to a free weekend.
Still working on getting caught up, as if that will ever happen. Thank you for all of your kind comments and favs.

When the barista handed me my coffee from the drive-thru window today, I noticed this little crayon drawn heart peeking out. I said to him, "Did someone draw a heart on my cup?", to which he replied, "apparently so." This just made my day...someone took the time to brighten my day with this heart and that is very special.
At the end of my late afternoon visit to Canzelle Alpacas near Santa Barbara (CA), the farmer opened the door that locked the area in which alpacas roam about during the day... before which I had this fortunate shoot.

Have I mentioned that the air here in Salt Lake is on a record stretch of inversion? I am aching for some color in the days.
This dragon fruit, at the very least, perked up snack time quite a bit!
i went to the santa cruz beach boardwalk to take pictures and really didn't find myself inspired. maybe it's my recent overdose of county fairs, and the similar carnival effect at the boardwalk. the light was also kind of boring- the smoke and the heat made for a really bland white/very very pale blue/grey sky that just wasn't prone to cool shades of anything. either way, i took about 10 pictures, none of which are particularly interesting enough even to look at processing them.
Until i got almost to the parking lot, and saw a dog. there are no dogs allowed at the boardwalk. open containers, yes, dogs, no. and the dog was a pit bull. a chunky monkey, red, neutered pit bull. he was licking and wagging and hamming it up. of course, he was a service dog, helping his people out at the crowded venue of the boardwalk. how awesome! how even more awesome, in my eyes, that he was a pit bull. even more MORE awesome that he was neutered (so rare to see a working, neutered pit bull!) i asked if i could pet him, and he mauled me with his tongue, and his people told me he goes everywhere, and has also worked the crowds at Great America, and other crowded spots.
