firework in macrovision

how to? using an old lighter, cratch it 3-4 times on a paper

and blow or let fall the little "gunpowder" on a candle... very easy work

but great possibilities

Just a bit of random tinkering with my Sigma 105mm macro lens, learning its capabilities.

iceberg macrovision...

frozen water drops on a blue surface

The countless hours I have lost submersed in the depths of my mind whilst spinning and flicking this rubiks cube into place is amazing. However I had never once stopped to admire how much a real feat of engineering they are and with some additional contrast in lighting quite interesting to photograph.

After projects I keep the left overs and give them new life by smashing and cutting them till the color bleeds all over my light table.

After briefly playing around with a ball of string on my 1st attempt it made a return on the second time as well. The fibres of the string intrigue me and provide an interesting texture to capture.

Oil on water is one of the first subjects that everyone should try out when they get a macro lens. We have been having fun making some amazing abstract shots using this method, you can see how in our latest video >>> youtu.be/mixLIIQ5N00

It's a super simple setup that can get some colourful and creative shots right out of the gate. We have spent many hours taking shot after shot of swirling oil and water mixtures to get some amazing varied results.

All it takes is a shallow glass bowl, some oil, water and a colourful backdrop. Using the Adaptalux Studio and our Colour Filters, we were able to change the colours and gradients behind the oil with ease, getting hundreds of unique shots really quickly.

If you are looking for a new macro subject to try out, definitely give this a go. The colourful abstract shots can make for some great desktop backgrounds. If you're into video, the motion of the water is really pleasing to capture if you have the right lighting.

See the microcosm in macrovision, our bodies moving with pure precision. One universal celebration, one evolution, one creation...
