Bundala National Park, SP, Sri Lanka
Land monitors are big lizards about 1,40m long and they weigh about 10 kg. They feed on small preys such as insects and snails. The Land Monitor became a protected species ever since people started eating its flesh. They're very numerous in Bundala and can be approached well, which allowed me to take this portrait.

While thinking about the MM theme "circles" - I noticed a 2" ball of sting sitting on one of my tables. I leaned over and did a test shot (which this is) - but when posting time rolled around - I decided on another image. After all - who would post a "test shot"?
