Pentax K-1, SMC Pentax-M 200/4, Sigma 2x macro teleconverter

 

An informal comparison of de-glassed teleconverter as extension tube and proper macro teleconverter.

 

Although not having the glass in the way made for a sharper, clearer image (even though maybe I didn't nail the focus in the macro TC image), I think the macro TC is preferable. For both, the FOV is the same. With the macro TC, minimum focusing distance is the same as is native to the lens and you don't lose infinity.
