" Le pompon rouge "

Il y a quelque temps alors que je ne m'y attendais pas , au détour d'un chemin sous un orage de montagne avec Oggì, je fis la découverte de ce sublime Lilium pomponium (lys de Pomponne) . Quelle surprise, il est sublime avec ce rouge éclatant ! Il va falloir réussir à faire quelque chose malgré l'orage. L'année prochaine, il me faudra trouver le Lys martagon avec son rose fuschia

Another close up with different facing this time. Ladybug showed up and posed for me. now I'm in search for ladybug every day. Looking to get a few more shots.

The theme was "TWO" - two of something. I chose two blue pens for several reasons.

1) The blue plastic is semi-transparent and brings up lovely colours when in light.

2) The silver tips are shiny, making a nice contrast with the blue.

3) They're small and fit into the Macro Mondays size criteria.

4) They're actually quite photogenic, although they did roll around a bit making it challenging to set the tips together.

This was fun and I like the results. There are 8 photos in this set. I especially like this one where I positioned the pens on a metal table outside on a sunny day, over the hole that the sun umbrella fits into, and photographed from underneath managing to get the sky and clouds in the background.

For the final Macro Mondays challenge of 2021 we were asked to make a macro photo using two of the themes presented during the year. I chose "In Ice" (Feb 15) and "Forks" (Apr 26). I really enjoyed the 'In Ice' challenge when it came around. I'd never photographed using ice and I achieved some wonderful results. 'Forks' also proved to be an interesting challenge and I love my forks photos. So here's the result of the two - "Forks in Ice".

While I chose this one for Macro Mondays, I did end up with a number of other different versions for this theme - also there in my album. 😀

This is a small section of my coffee maker. I love it's bronze colour and the wavy lines enhance it.

I used to make and sell earrings on the internet. I no longer do it, however I do still have a lot of the components and never know when they might be useful. In this case I placed a filigree bead cap on top of a small glass turquoise bead, and placed them on a glass display case that has tiny lights in it. The blue chequered background is the lid of a flat box we were given, with a presentation folder inside, last week. My tiny pen-sized beam torch (bought at a $2 Shop) provided the curved spot-light shape behind and blue reflection on the glass base. This is a perfect example of why I enjoy doing these photos so much. Every one of them requires me to delve deeply into my creative imagination and is such fun to create. The other part of the fun is how the props are usually turn out to be something quite ordinary made to look glamorous.

Yes, it's the smoke from an incense cone. I absolutely loved this challenge and have done many shots. This was one of my favourites because it almost looks like soft floaty fabric rather than smoke. Photographing smoke has quite captivated me. I super love learning new skills and this has been a magical experience. 😍
