Chemex pour-over, less than 2 inches side to side.

The Chemex Coffeemaker is a manual pour-over style glass coffeemaker, invented by Peter Schlumbohm in 1941, manufactured by the Chemex Corporation in Chicopee, Massachusetts. In 1958, designers at the Illinois Institute of Technology selected the Chemex Coffeemaker as "one of the best-designed products of modern times." It is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

I purchased this, still in the original box and never used. The flashlamp was with a Kodak Photo Flasher dated 1954.

The lamp is laying on a sheet of Forever stamps.

The secret to a healthy life is balance. Some days require asparagus, and others deserve a lollipop :)

For this photo at 2 x magnification with mp-e 65 mm (and kenko extension tubes, I didn't remove them) I used f/8, the best combination of sharpness and depth of field in my opinion.

Usually I go for a lower f number to obtain more detail and less depth and than use zerene stacking.

... hanging on our tree. For Macro Mondays theme this week, holiday bokeh, found this very tricky especially with the lights flashing!

This is a toothpick holder and my Grandmother had one! I found out they were made in the 40's and 50's and when I saw one at a flea market some thirty years ago, I had to have it because of the memories it brought back. You press on the woodpeckers head and he leans forward and handily picks up the toothpick for you. HMM!
