When I were a lad, back in the 1700's just after they invented the wheel, growing up in a big city I could only imagine what it would be like to grow up on a farm. This was one of my favourite childhood toys, a Claas Combine Harvester - Matchbox series 65 made in England by Lesney.

Happy Macro Monday :-)

A frozen cube of ginger.......ginger (I am told) can reduce inflammation, improve blood circulation, alleviate nausea, assist digestion and other things. I don't necessarily drink ginger tea for those reasons -I just like a ginger and honey drink. The way I make it is to peel the ginger and whiz it in a blender with water so that it it's 'grated'. Strain it and fill 1 in square ice cube trays with the grated ginger. Freeze the trays and once frozen bag them up. Then, when I want a drink it 's easy to take a cube from the freezer - drop it in the cup infuser and pour over boiling water. The tumbler here is 7cm (2 3/4 ins) in diameter.

(not quite 3/4" horizontally)

Shooting this brought me back to my childhood days when the neighborhood kids would gather around after school and make up our own games of marbles.

I found an old 6x6 folding camera at an antique store. A Makinet Six that was meant for 120 film. I shot a roll of film in it but the light leaks put a foggy haze on all the frames. I didn't buy it to use anyway. It was made between 1934 and 1939 and it would be a little too optomistic to expect it to actually work well. I bought it more as a decoration to set on my camera collection shelf. I cropped my photo to a square that covers a 6cm x 6cm area and converted to black & white. Although a color roll film was available in 1935 (Dufaycolor) black & white was still faster and cheaper and would have been far more popular with the average photographer.

See the camera and case here.

HMM to all and as always thank you for any views, faves and possibly comments.

Nice to know that blueberries lie in a glass, the glass name in Italy ( country where I live) is Bicchiere, so the mix of two languages could be.. blueberries in the “ bicchiere” 😄

Lots of fallen Autumn leaves around now. This is a 1 inch section of a leaf from an Ornamental Pear Tree.

A very Merry Christmas and HMM to everyone. Peace my friends.
