The heart of the bloom of a rose which I bought yesterday as part of a bouquet. It seemed to have an over abundance of petals which I thought lent themselves very nicely for a frame filling macro shot
Actually this is just a word play, since the plate is from the series Manufacture Rock from Villeroy und Boch.
Same plate differnt day , different light, light shaped by the railings of my balcony, one photo with an addidional reflector zebra gold and silver.
I brought them in from the garden this morning and I was trying to avoid having to show the nibbled bit of one of the tulips as I thought it would upset the 'equilibrium' of the composition (sounds pompous but you know what I mean). I decided though that the little nibbled bit deserved to have its fifteen minutes of fame! 😊
Strolling into a brand new year...Back from my long leave, I'll be doing some serious catching up to do with all of you guys out there. Cheers, Ringgo.

There are definite signs of Spring on the horizon in Cotignac including mimosa trees. This is a shot of our mimosa tree which we planted as a sapling the year we arrived in 2021 and it's grown so much in the years since then. Another sign of Spring is blossom on the almond trees which you see dotted around Cotignac
This is a photo of a bouquet I bought at the village market on Tuesday. It comprised mini-red roses and four pink cala lily flowers. There was a lot of greenery 'spray' too and that is what you can see and what gives it the green 'dreamy' look as I pointed the camera directly through it

Marbles for Macro Mondays, borrowed from a friend, placed on a black pizza plate, Villeroy & Boch, series Manufacture Rock. For the light sun, through a metal plate for grilling.
The main challenge, was to place the marbles onto to the plate, somehow equidistant from each other, in a straight line, put no parallel to the lens, to get some dept of field. Last but the grill plate into a magic clamp, adjust the plate for the right hot spot, camera to tripod and take some photos.
If you look carefully, there are different reflections and hot spots on the marbles.
I was just trying out different Subjects to refract into the droplets of water on my spiral piece of copper wire.
This is a photo stack of 8 images. I did the full stack of 16 images, but that just didn't look as good with everything in the shot in focus. I feel like there has to be some blur for it to be believable.
Not my favorite one of these I have done, mostly because of the flower. A rather boring, yellow dahlia. I'm having a hard time finding good flowers at the local stores lately. I miss Summer...
Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens and the Tokina AT-X Macro Extender to get to 1:1 magnification.
Today I was at the local garden nursery looking for some flowers for my Mom, WoW.!
When I saw these beautiful Pink Exploding flowers, my decision was made.
She was so happy to receive such a beautiful gift of love from her son, Gaston.
And of course she invited me for lunch.

Thanks for all your wonderful support on my work in Photography. Lol: Gaston.!!

This shot demonstrates a good use of the rule of thirds, in my opinion
Festive seasons, Christmas gift wrapped in red paper, with a single star and some golden tinsel.
The Star, tip to tip is less than 4 cm. But for Macro Mondays, theme "festive season" it shown not from tip to tip, at least not in all directions.
The background is a a book already wrapped, a golden star and some golden tinsel.
First light source was late morning light, second light source reflection from a cosmetic mirror.
