229/365 A series of macro shots taken tonight. I only had 4 matches to play with after I spent a good 20 minutes trying to capture the moment the match ignites. I can now share that it's not very easy! I decided this was probably the easier option

 

All packed and heading home tomorrow so won't be online for a few days as there's no interweb at Han's grand parents place. will catch up with everyone's streams as soon as I can get online to upload!

180/365 Took the kids to Canterbury for some shopping yesterday and forgot the camera. By the time we got back I was too tired to look about for a shot so put the macro extension on and headed into the garden!

You would never guess that one of the most spetacular flowers lie within the closed pedals.

Grabbed an older Canon macro extension tube from my professor, yet another great buy! I LOVE this thing, on my 70-200 I will be having some macro fun very soon!

I thought I accidently moved and caused a little ghosting of this mushroom but upon closer examination it turns out that the outside ring of this mushroom looks just like that.

Sometimes you have to wonder if they are more alive than what science tells us.

I just got a cheap macro extension for under ten dollars. They have three rings that you can mount separately or in any combination to decrease de minimal distance you can focus. When you mount you need to go manual an manual focus. But the results are quite impressive, as shown bellow.

I love contrast, especially in nature. This really caught my eye as I was on my little nature walk.

The tree outside our villa has these yellow flowers on and was teeming with bees this morning. Because there was a strong breeze it was really difficult to get a good focus on them as the flowers were constantly moving. Can't tell you how much I'd like a decent Macro lens after this!

part 2 of diptych. thankfully the rain was soft enough not to hurt my camera. taken somewhere in eureka with a makeshift softbox over my flash, and a macro ring extension.

The inside of this flower kindof looks like a little bug has made it's home.

231/365 Back in the U.K and the weather is glorious. Took this in the garden with the Macro extension. It was only when I looked afterwards that I noticed the little fella hiding under the plant!
