Greenish blue water/milk mixture dropped into blue water with a reflection from a red foam board behind the pan. Food coloring in the liquids. I was trying for turquoise color - came pretty close.
I've been getting some good tips from Kev. Should check him out. Amazing stuff!
Song by Rise Against, my favorite band for many, many years!
I shot a gerbera with a single droplet on one petal. You can't imagine how difficult it is to place the droplet without letting it fall down :D
This picture was shot with my Macro lens and my 2x Teleconverter at approximately 1.5:1 magnification.
Have a nice week!

This is an image from archives, as I have not enough time at the moment for liquid art photography. Hoping to come back soon with new work.

Sometimes love is like pink feather
Whoever is holding it has a smile at the corner of his eyes,
Seeing the feather sleeps deeply in the palm of his hand.
When the wind blows,
The feather wakes up and floats away gently.........

I like the way the colours turned out in this one. Yellow food dye in the drop and blue water in the drip tray. Blue gel on one flash and a red and yellow gel on the other. Pretty much as shot.

One more from this series. I've been playing with some different lighting, but so far it's too dark so needs some more work.
The closer the magnification, the more abstract and surreal everything becomes.
This makes me think of a Spacetime distortion at an Event Horizon of a Black Hole. It has a Stephen King "The Langoliers" feel to it, so now I can hear the sound too.
Or is it a flock of Birds or Bats before a storm? What do you see?
Baltic amber, also known as succinite, is the largest known deposit of amber. It is fossilized pine tree resin that contains prehistoric plant material, insects, and strands of DNA.
“When we consider cutting this apple pie, but down beyond a single atom, we confront the infinity of the very small, and when we look up at the night sky, we confront an infinity of the very large. These infinities are among the most awesome of human ideas. They represent an unending regress which goes on, not just very far, but forever.” – Carl Sagan
Thank you to Sumarie for letting photograph her beautiful Baltic Amber specimen.

Ouça-me bem amor
preste atenção, o mundo é um moinho
vai triturar teus sonhos tão mesquinhos
vai reduzir as ilusões a pó…
Preste atenção, querida
de cada amor tu herdarás só o cinismo
quando notares estás à beira do abismo
abismo que cavaste com os teus pés.

I know these are not the colors of Brazil, but this is my latest drop. I will make another soon with the proper colors of Brazil :-) Thank you for your overwhelming response to the gallery in BBC World Brazil.
In this one, I used black water in the pan. The drop is a milk/water mixture with green and blue food coloring. The purple and red reflections on the water are from a couple of colored plastic sheets behind the water.
Speedlite 430 EX ll aimed toward the backdrop. Exposure 1/250. ISO 125. f/16

Thanks for taking the time.
