A very Happy New Year to everyone. It is raining here. All the snow is disappearing and the rivers are rising. I'm hoping to get some river icicle shots if the conditions are right. I haven't had much time for outdoor winter pics, but there's still time left.

This year I am keeping my personal Facebook private for family and old friends. You can follow me on my Liquid Drop Art page if you wish.

Thank you for all your comments and support on the last post and over the past year. I will keep you updated when things are finalized.

Flower Art - Macro Photography

Spring wild flowers in walker basin.

Blue milk/water dropped into yellow water (which turns green after a few splashes:-)

Food dye dropped into water. I played with the colours a small bit to get rid of the harsh lighting in the back. I saw this idea and it definitely has some possibilities. I used a wine glass for this and inverted the picture. I really need to find a larger vessel for the water .

Canon Speedlite 430EX ll set to 1/32 power behind frosted glass to the rear of the wine glass.

Need some colour today!

Please, no icons.

Made with The Time Machine. Decided to do a few with milk this time. Very messy but they come out very nicely. I am using two flashes - one directed at a blue background and one in front to highlight the drop and the background. Skim milk dropped into water with some blue food dye. I could never do these drops before I had the drip kit.

No, this is not photoshopped. I use a program for levels, resizing and cleaning up stray drops and bubbles, etc. This is all done with the timing of The Time Machine and the drip kit!

In honor of all the tea drinkers. Today is a very exciting day for me. Some of my water drop pictures were published in the UK. They are in "The Daily Telegraph", "The Daily Mirror" and "The Sun". I thought it appropriate to do a drop like this one. I'm so overwhelmed by this publicity. I never dreamed this would happen when I started doing these some months ago. I love doing water drops and am very thankful for all the support shown here on Flickr. Without you this would not have happened. Thank you all so very much.

Oh, (LIPTON Yellow Label Tea) :-)

With these I was trying to get more of the soap film colours in the bubble.

The water drop took a piece of the bubble with it.

A close-up macro shot of a delicate white flower, its golden stamens glowing in the gentle light of spring. The soft focus and warm tones evoke a sense of calm, purity, and the fleeting beauty of nature’s smallest wonders.

Another water splash. I like the simplicity of this one.

Frost on my window. Full frame shot.

A lot of work to get rid of condensation spots.

It's nice and sunny out - I'll catch up later.

Up close you can see the onion-like skin that runs down the flower. Crazy color contrast.

571 Title suggested by Giorgio Di Malta (eldanzante) "sguardo indiscreto".

The background is a cd.

Small description on Ring of Fire. I'll get a set-up shot soon.

Thought it was time to post one of these. I rarely do these anymore, but once in a while i get the urge to try a few. It's in my blood.

Set-Up for this.

This image is so "busy," that it almost makes me uncomfortable. But it has a detailed and complex beauty.

A well-placed drop on a dried yellow flower.

These are photos of milk drops splashing into milk containing food coloring. For information on the setup, see the detailed description in the similar recent photo.

No photoshop manipulation, one single shot.
