So many songs I love so this was very hard for me to decide! I went for one of my first songs I fell in love with during my high school years, sung by Chicago.

“Don't Just

Don't just learn, experience.

Don't just read, absorb.

Don't just change, transform.

Don't just relate, advocate.

Don't just promise, prove.

Don't just criticize, encourage.

Don't just think, ponder.

Don't just take, give.

Don't just see, feel.

Don’t just dream, do.

Don't just hear, listen.

Don't just talk, act.

Don't just tell, show.

Don't just exist, live.”

― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Oh my, how cool is this, the wild Flowers colors complement. Macro. Globe Mallows and the blue background is Bristly Nama all in my back acre. No editing, or crop, manual settings and as always shot in RAW.

A very warm walk around Warnham Nature Reserve yesterday, there weren't many birds brave enough to venture out into the heat so out came the macro lens!

There's a stainless steel globe in Reigate's Priory Park that's designed almost like a gyroscope with centimetre tall lettering chiselled into it.

Macro Monday - Natural Light

Macro Monday's theme: When I was a child... When I was a child the world was full of magic and wonder. The imagination can take you to wonderful and terrifying places. This 1.5 inch statue of a Fae and her unicorn is within a musical snow globe that my child now has and watches with wonder as it plays its tune and slowly spins. I cant help but wonder what magic is spinning in my child's head as it once did in mine.

Back to the stainless steel globe in Reigate's Priory Park. You can see more shots of it here if you're interested!

This macro photo is of a globe artichoke; a vegetable that my father had been growing. Its leaves are hard and have spiked tips, which makes the artichoke look very menacing. The centre of the flower however is soft and yellow coloured. This has always reminded me of one of my favourite Neil Young songs. I have always thought the artichoke had a heart of gold.

Macro shot showing a tiny Earth globe hanging at the end of a used Chinese key chain. It has simple drawings showing just some country borders, mostly picturing just continents in bright colors. It shows the main time lines and parallels.

A cluster of 1 mm (more or less), red, hexagonal crystals of vanadinite from Globe, Arizona. Looks better large.

This globe depicts a map which looks quite different from the current understanding of the terrestrial Earth. At first, I was led to believe it was the Gondwanaland/Laurasia - when all the continents were a single mass of land. But then Africa is separate.

A bit of research using the names of globe led me here - History of the Isle of Pines. It could be a map of an English bookkeeper George Pines who got lost in the Pacific Ocean going towards India in the 1600s.

I would be glad if someone could elucidate the real mystery behind this globe. Do let me know if you wish to take a look at other continents.

it's a small world,

it really is

An old toy bank in the shape of a globe. It was in my grandparents house for years and I loved it as a kid. When they were going to throw it out before moving, I rescued it and it joined my little museum. I've been reading a book on the history of the notion of a Hollow Earth and thought it would make an appropriate photo for today.

recent photograph of a globe that has been lying around the house for a while :)

My version of the "airshow" datas common today in each planes.

Each time I fly, I just take time to imagine the hundreds places I will never see and the thousands people I will never meet... This is just what I need to relativize my personal importance ;-))
