Close up of some pollen in a flower.. I don't know kind of flower it is though... Shot with my Nikkor 60mm 2.8D
Taken with a Lumix GH-2 camera using an old 24mm Sigma Minolta MD mount lens on micro four thirds adapter. This is a 48mm FF equivalent - but with macro focusing capability down to about 3" - amazing for a standard prime! This might become one of my favorite lens combinations. I had the old Sigma lens since my days of shooting Minolta and film - decades!
Some mutant buds on one of my rose bushes. The rest of the bush looks perfectly healthy, I don't know what these things are. They look cool, though.
I recently had the pleasure of checking out the Butterflies Alive! exhibit at the Lubbock Science Spectrum and, while I can’t say I was blown away with the presentation, it was certainly a lot of fun.
In addition to the butterfly photo ops, there are also a number of amazing plants and flowers to shoot. I’m still getting used to this manual focus lens, so a lot of mine didn’t turn out so well. All the more reason to return!
I took this batch of macros to get one shot for the "blurry and artsy" theme in We're Here!. I used a flashlight for a few shots, then used my phone's flashlight because it had a wider range of light than the flashlight did. The water drops were spritzed on with the water bottle I use to spritz the kittens.
