"When we look deeply into the heart of a flower, we see clouds, sunshine, minerals, time, the earth, and everything else in the cosmos in it. Without clouds there could be no rain, and without rain there would be no flower."

There are times that the smallest flowers draw me to them. Perhaps they are singing a quiet siren's song that only I can hear.

Days ago I received two large bouquets of flowers from sweet family members. What a treat to study the details of each blossom. Recently I noticed one of the Lily flowers had finally opened. The sun was streaming in the window so the flower joined me in a celebration of its beauty.

The delicate structure of the flower's petals are in sharp contrast to the weight of the center. Perhaps that is one reason I love Anemones.

There are flowers so elegant, they really deserve a spotlight.

Good friends invited me to see their garden, but they suggested I bring my camera. They had created a space that would support bees and butterflies....and photographers. I was drawn to the marigolds, as my father always planted them along our walkway to our house. When I returned home and saw the photograph, I realized it was a singing blossom. Flowers, music and memories of my dad. I love it!

It doesn't take much to make me stop and admire a flower. You can grow from a lowly little weed and if you are slightly colorful, I will fall in love with you.

There are times when clouds bring continuous rain showers, one must find their own little bit of sunshine. Thanks, golden flower!

This is the time of year when the Columbines are blooming. I have several cultivated ones in my garden but I love seeing the wild ones on the trails when we hike. This beauty was tucked away in a small patch along a forested hiking trail we walked last week. It looks more like a cultivated variety. Who knows how it got to that spot but it is thriving well in its surroundings. Bloom where you are planted!

Happy Macro Monday!

Expect many macro shots this week!

The center of flowers draw me in, like a moth to a flame. Perhaps Claude Monet said it best..."I must have flowers, always, and always."

Bees can become so focused on gathering pollen that they sometimes look as if a somersault is in their future. This bee was too busy to even be bothered by my paparazzi like photography.

I've often discovered that the smallest things in life are pretty powerful. This small cluster of blossoms were waving about in the breeze, all the while calling attention to themselves. I could almost hear them shouting, 'Take our picture.' I thought I should oblige them.
