I've not managed to capture an image of a dung fly before...I didn't even know what he was until I got home and researched it. Now I'm a little grossed out

The blackberry blossoms kept this beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail busy for a long time. She wasn't a bit bothered by my getting very close for some macro captures.

This macro captures the mood of autumn and Halloween.

A beautiful macro capture the colors of fall.

HMB...!! A macro capture of forget-me-nots.. "Myosotis" taken with the "Raynox drc-250"

Have a wonderful Monday.. thanks for all your kind words.. invites.. awards.. etc.. appreciated.. NO multi invites please.. Can be viewed Large/Black.. if you wish..!

Since I purchased a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8. macro lens I'm constantly discovering interesting subjects in the garden. I'm not 100% sure the left eye is pin sharp, but I'm pretty satisfied with my first shareable insect macro capture.

Shot while at a local nature reserve. The late afternoon sunlight was working its magic.

National Trust. Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire. Autumn 2022.

A selection of shots taken at The National Trust's Clumber Park, capturing a hint of Autumn towards the end of November, late afternoon as Dusk was falling.

Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. It offers freedom to discover a ducal park - explore picturesque parkland and gardens, peaceful woodlands and a magnificent lake. Not only is Clumber's mosaic of habitats home to an amazing array of wildlife, it is listed Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Unless you know what it will do ;-)

It's not a valve, it's not a light or reflector, it's not an ordinary screw... I found this during my MM "Transportation" walk on a very old, rusty bike. It was mounted on the front wheel's mudguard, it wasn't connected to anything (except the mudguard, of course). Does anyone happen to know what this thing is or could be used for? I have no idea...

I had forgotton to switch filters, so the star filter I had used for a couple of captures for the previous MM theme "Hand Tool" was still mounted on my camera. A convenient "accident", because it added some nice extra bling to my "Transportation" photos. Extra bling often is nice at least for macro captures, don't you agree?

Press "Z" (we all know what that will do, don't we?), please ;-)

Happy Hump Day! ;-)

Yes, Karen, I chewed through that plant too. Call pest control – see what happens.

Recently visited Oldmoor Wood, Nottinghamshire. Oldmoor Wood is a woodland in Nottinghamshire, near the village of Strelley. It covers a total area of 15.11 hectares. It is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust.

I went primarily for the beautiful Bluebells. There is a mix of Native and Spanish Bluebells.

Native Bluebells are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

How to tell the difference.

English Bluebells: Flowers on one side of the stem.

Spanish Bluebells: Flowers all around the stem.
