Unfortunately I was using my macro lens today so the curious sea lions chewing my flippers and nuzzling my camera were more of a nuisance than a photo op. These three shots are of the same young individual. I'm really happy with the detail of the iris that the macro captured!
One of fifty-one new designs I captured from inside one of my real kaleidoscope. This particular scope uses light from the side which reflects through colored glass into pieces of glass and jewels floating in oil. It also has a black bottom and black sides so the light actually illuminates the inside items like neon.

Бронзовка золотистая (лат. Cetonia aurata) — вид жесткокрылых насекомых из подсемейства бронзовок в составе семейства пластинчатоусых. Золотистая бронзовка широко распространена по всей Евразии за исключением горных регионов и пустынь. Бронзовку нередко принимают за обычного майского жука, так как они относятся к одному семейству. Отличить этих насекомых можно по яркому металлическому цвету и полету. При полете жесткие надкрылья бронзовок остаются сложенными, в отличие от большинства жуков, а тонкие прозрачные крылья, выпускаются через выемки по бокам. Поэтому, не смотря на размер, эти жуки хорошо маневрируют в воздухе. Бронзовки имеют естественных врагов. Взрослые особи очень часто рискуют стать добычей разных птиц. Что касается животных, то они бронзовок в пищу не употребляют. А содержащийся в организме этих жуков токсин является губительным для мелких хищников. Бронзовка – это типичный лесной обитатель, предпочитающий солнечные поляны. Часто из можно встретить на садовых и огородных участках. В теплый солнечный день бронзовки особенно активны. Питаются эти жуки цветками (дикорастущих и культурных травянистых растений, деревьев и кустарников). Грызут листья, молодые побеги и лепестки. Лакомством для них являются сердцевины цветков. Не брезгают они соком и сочной мякотью спелых фруктов. Садовники, мягко говоря, недолюбливают этих жуков)) Вообще, я где-то читал, что некоторые люди содержат в домашних условия этих жуков, а крупные зоомагазины, наряду с бабочками, богомолами и палочниками, предлагают бронзовок к покупке:)

These days, it is easy to make macro movie clips with a latest DSLR or a digital HD camcoder. However I have neither latest DSLR nor digital HD camcoder. So I attach a reversed single lens to an old camcoder . This is really a simple way to make an old movie camcoder which has no macro fucntion to a macro capture available one.
Some vignetting are caused from the reversed lens aperture. I could get rid of it by zooming camcoder's lens, but it makes too shallow of focus range to make a difficulty to control.
These guys were rather hard to capture so in my editing I colored and sharpened it up so the turtles were the main focus. I also made the backdrop of their enclosure black and white to make a subtle change as well.

This picture was captured by the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 DG Macro EX as a test. it's Good build quality, light weight and handled, easy to use, colors & contrast are amazing. and it gives you a very good macro captures. on the other hand the auto focus is slow and annoying sometimes! it's not that sharp as i read! but it still a very good deal for it's price.
