First drone fly hoverfly of 2014, feeding on some sugar/honey syrup on a camellia leaf

This is center of one of the flowers currently blooming on a small cactus plant in our front yard. Good old milimeter depth of field again!

(Looks a little dark on the pure white background of flickr. See my photoblog post for a more accurate representation).

My extension tubes have finally arrived! This one is taken with the 85mm f/2 and all 3 tubes.

Note:

F stop in exif is incorrect because i didn't set up my non-cpu lens data with the aperture used in this shot.

Reverse macro using a 18mm-55mm Canon 50mm manual lens. A cheap alternative to my 100mm L series Macro. Close up on a budget.

Photographed is a Bee on a flower (Ladakh, India). I used a Canon 7D and a Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro lens.

First sighting of one of these gorgeous little wasps this year. They are normally very hyperactive and difficult to capture but this one did allow me to hold the cornflower bud it was sitting on for a shot.
