Red ants on a cornflower bud. Not seen this many ants on one bud before.
You can clearly see the reason why though - there are pools of honeydew on the bud. Not sure if this is natural or whether the ants actually damage the bud to make it leak. Focus stacked using zerene stacker
Plant bug having a drink. Saw this fly off my coat when I had come inside after a walk. Trapped it and gave it a drop of sugar/honey syrup to feed on
a macro photo of a ladybird, not easy trying to get a shot when they keep walking lol,i used my cheap but very good raynox lens for this
Shot with a 24mm lens reversed on 3 extension tubes. The flash is mounted on a hinged hot shoe that allows the flash to lean out over the stack, a DIY snoot fires the light directly in front of the lens.
Here I reversed an Olympus 50mm f1.8 zuiko onto a Canon 50mm f1.4.
Most people have probably experimented with this technique and will understand how ridiculously shallow the depth of field becomes.
This shot took a few takes as the focus was difficult to get right, also Ben kept on laughing
I like the vignetting the reverse lens created.
