Aprovechando los recursos que tenemos en el día a día al lado de casa y que se nos pasa desapercibidas.
Taking advantage of the resources that we have on a daily basis next to home and that we go unnoticed.
"Knicklicht" Glow sticks, which are used, for example, as a party gag or by anglers at night to mark the swimmers, shine through so-called chemiluminescence.
In this case, dyes are temporarily put into an electronically excited state by a chemical reaction. When they return to the so-called ground state, they radiate energy in the form of light. The wavelength and thus the color of the light depends on the dye used.
Another Macro Monday leftover.

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

Taken a while ago with my 55-300mm lens and a macro attachment. I liked the really fine details on the tip of the stigma and the stamens - these were details so small I'd never seen them before!
Macro Mondays : redux 2015 : Take Something Ordinary (missed this theme)
A macro with a spiral of a ballpoint pen.

The subject is a bit of crushed white marble purchased from a home improvement store in order to fill a hole in my yard. I pulled this piece from the ground and washed it before setting up the shoot.
It was shot for entry into Macro Monday's "Rock" challenge and for Smile on Saturday's "White on White" theme.

SMC PENTAX-FA Macro 100mm F2.8
Lighting
The built-in flash is acting as the wireless controller, triggering a Pentax AF540FGZ which lights the subject. This flash is resting on a Kong dog toy in order to get the appropriate angle. It is aimed directly at the subject. The subject itself is placed against a white printer-paper background which is curved up the back of the interior of a cardboard box in order to reflect some of this light back from behind the subject. A bare flash is used to get strong reflections from the marble facets.
See the first comment for an image of the setup.

My first attempt at Macro photography since my new lens arrived two days ago. Gales and rain have finally stopped so managed a few clicks in the garden this evening
Sony A9II +90mm f2.8 @ 1/320 f14 iso 320 + Godox TTL fill flash, hand held auto focus, one image @ 30 cm distance.
No need for tripod with this set up. 10 stops of image stabilisation lens 5 and camera 5, wasp kept moving other wise I could have shot at 1/100 shutter speed hand held- no wind. Auto focus on this camera is superior to manual focus despite all the experts saying use manual focus for single shot macro photography
