Conçu et réalisé par l'association des moulins à vent champenois, le site à été inauguré en 2007. L'objectif était de reconstruire un moulin à vent sur pivot semblable aux 140 moulins de ce type qui se dressaient au 18e siècle dans l'Aube et situé à la frange de deux entités naturelles, la champagne crayeuse et la champagne humide.
Designed and built by the association of windmills champenois, the site was inaugurated in 2007. The objective was to rebuild a windmill on a pivot similar to the 140 mills of this type that stood in the 18th century in the Aube and located at the fringe of two natural entities, chalky champagne and wet champagne.

Weer even een stoomtreintje! Maar de vraag is of de stoomtrein in deze foto het hoofdonderwerp is. De boom die onderdeel uitmaakt van het decor van deze stek springt behoorlijk in het oog namelijk.
Het doel van de foto was natuurlijk niet die ene grote boom, maar de trein die er die dag langs denderde. Het ging hier om de VSM-loc die, in mijn ogen, de meest brute uitstraling heeft; totdat de machine haar fluit laat horen.. Dit vind ik altijd een afknapper. Het is zaterdagochtend achttien minuten over elf als VSM 52 3879 met de 'kleine goederentrein' voorbij De Els in Lieren passeert als trein 783. De machinist hangt ontspannen uit z'n cabine tijdens de rit.

C'est avec une dizaine de minutes de retard que le traditionnel 66265 Villeneuve Perrigny se présentera à l'entrée de la gare des Laumes Alésia. Le convoi passe Seigny entre les Laumes et Montbard. On notera la présence du 67210 dans sa livrée infra unique.
Yup , Time is running out it seems - or has it just stood still ? There seems to be a moment in time jammed in the works there .

Former BN SD60M 1464 holds for a crew in Shabbona, IL with the H-NTWBRC. This is the first BN SD60M I've seen leading a road train in the midwest in many, many years.
De elektrische veteraan vervoert containertrein 281227, die van Venlo naar Waalhaven Zuid was ingelegd. In IJsselmonde werd de elektrische machine vervangen door een diesellocomotief voor het vervolgtraject.
Nadat de machine was aangekoppeld moest nog een 2e loc aan het geheel worden toegevoegd. Ook de 2e loc betreft een huurloc, maar dan een ander bijzondere loc. Het betrof de in LINEAS huisstijl gestoken 186 293 die de dag ervoor al in Amersfoort arriveerde. Op dit plaatje is de loc begonnen aan zijn eerste rangeerbeweging naar het emplacement van Amersfoort.

Once again Burnett Falls is flowing with Spring time run off. Once again the trek up the hill to shoot it occurs. Once again, it is captured and yes, once again it is a spectacle. Even from a distance, its thunderous pounding is clearly heard.
To think that ice from a distant Glacier melts to become water, flows for uncharted miles, and eventually arrives for me to capture. To some degree, this is a liquid Time Machine. The water once fell from the clouds, froze, then thawed, only to continue on its journey. What stories it could tell if given the chance.
