Just saw that one of the lenses for this camera sold for over $511 It was the 58mm. 12-7-2013. And it had problems, shutter speeds were off. The 58mm and 135mm are my favorite lenses for this camera.

(Since I allowed a few photography blogs to use my photo of the Omegaflex M and it seems like its gone viral. Numerous requests have poured in from around the world to purchase my Omegaflex M, lenses, and finders. Thanks for your offers but these are quite hard to come by and it took me several years of searching to find them so I'm not interested in selling them for less than I paid.)

I came across this post on Photonet some time ago that indicated that the Omegaflex M camera and lenses compared favorably with the Rolleiflex so I decided to add it to my collection. Beware! this camera is a monster. With the 135mm lens it probably weighs more than 10 pounds. The 135mm is a super-fast f3.5 lens with great bokeh. (faster than the Telerollei at f4.0 and the Mamiya twin at f4.5) The 135mm lens has a diaphragm just like the Mamiya TLR 135mm DS lens that commands a huge premium over the regular version. It allow you to visualize the depth of field rather than estimate. Its a cool feature. I Believe that it is unique when compared to other TLR's in that it is the only TLR that allows you to change both the lenses and film backs. To me, it takes care of one of the major short comings of all other TLR, that is, you can't change mid roll. It may be the only TLR that is in the "ideal 6X7" format. This camera is far more uncommon than the Rolleiflex but prices are modest in comparison and in my humble opinion, a good value. At any given time hundreds of Rolleiflexs can be had at a price; search the planet and you'd be hard-pressed to find more than a few Omegaflexs available for sale at any given time. In total, there were only 2500 Koni-Omegaflex M cameras manufactured. Since they started in 1929 when Rollei began making twin lens reflex cameras, Rollei manufactures 3-4 times that number annually. They are still being made. One of the few film cameras still in production. Expect to pay around $5400 for a new Rolleiflex FX at B&H photo. There is a new model out for 2012 that has yet to be priced. New electronic shutter. Check it out.

Lenses available for this camera include 58mm, 90mm, 135mm, & 180mm. I have all but the 180mm. The 180 is hard to find, expensive, and not likely to ever use it.

I have owned Rolleiflexes, Telerollieflex, Mamiya C's and an Omegaflex, I have good experience with all types of TLRs. Lets compare apples to apples, or 135 TLRs to 135 TLRs: The Telerolleiflex is a great classic camera and the smallest of these three with great performance from that old Planar, but it is an old and fixed lens. Mamiya is a good system with a good 135 lens, though not up to the same standard of the Planar. Stopped down it is very good and Mamiya offers the most system possibilites of all TLRs with the widest lens selection. Last is the 135 Hexanon on the Omegaflex, which is as well built as a Rolleiflex (except for the fussy film back system that does not hold up well over time). Independent testing on the web shows the Omegaflex Hexanons to be the sharpest of all TLRs and I can say I would hold them up to a Planar any day. Rare as they may be, they offer the best of both worlds: the build and sharpness quality of a Rolleiflex, with the interchangible lens ability of the Mamiyas. Unless you are in love with the Telerolleiflex, I would recommend the Omegaflex. If hard to get, I can then recommend a Mamiya C-330 (f or s model) with the 135 Sekor or the better 180 Super. You can have a used Mamiya C with 3 lenses, an L grip, 3 shades and different prisms/hoods for 1/2 the cost a 40 year old 'flex. I still have the Omega and the Mamiya.

Here is an interesting review of the Omegaflex M:

JS2 M soviet heavy tank ( 46 tons )

equiped 122 mm maingun (able to destroy fortifications and to knock out heavy german tanks even if their armor has not been penetrated !!!!

+ 2 machineguns ( co axial + neck of turret )

production during ww2 about 3500 JS2

compared to (489 king tiger )

very reliable ( 1000 km ) without problem !!!

this was the soviet response to heavy german tanks !!!

machine gun on the neck of the turret why ???

in urban fights and also due to the fact that the center of gravity is too much in front ( armor , turret and long gun ) , when the bank is too sharp, JS2 sould turn the turret putting the maingun towards the back of the tank . so it can only fire with the neck machine gun !!!!!!!

crazy isn't it

they were mixed with T-34 so they make the shot :-)
