✦ Plumepulse Tattoo by VENUS ✦

I wear my art like a second skin—provocative, unapologetic, and timeless. The Plumepulse Tattoo by VENUS is more than body ink; it’s an intoxicating symphony of curves and contours, where mythical plumage and celestial motifs collide in an opulent embrace. Its graphics sweep across my form with exquisite precision, blending bold florals, winged silhouettes, and sacred star-laced detailing that echo back to the erotic artistry of ancient Japanese irezumi and Baroque romanticism.

Every line is charged with intimacy—delicate feathers whispering along my thighs, celestial swirls tracing my hips, and radiant blossoms blooming across my back. This tattoo is an ode to passion, a living canvas that transforms the body into both gallery and masterpiece.

The Plumepulse comes alive in a palette of possibilities: fresh with lustrous vibrance, faded with soft, time-worn allure, or aged with the kind of haunting beauty only history bestows. Choose from rich color, bold black & white, or your own personal tint to match the mood of your night. Each option invites reinvention, shifting with your story, your seduction, your skin.

Now exclusively available at the Swank August Around the World Sales Event, the Plumepulse Tattoo is your passport to irresistible elegance and unbridled desire.

The early Spanish settlers of California saw vast displays of California poppies lighting up the coastal hillsides, and it is said they could guide their ship by the sight. They called the California coast the "land of fire," and the plant the "cup of gold." (flowersociety.org)

On March 2, 1903, the California poppy, Eschscholzia californica, became the official state flower of California. The plant's bright orange flowers are an unmatched symbol of the Golden State, perhaps viewed as a floral representation of the "fields of gold" sought during the gold rush. The California poppy is frequently seen blooming in the spring and summer along country roads and freeways throughout much of the state, making this plant a highly recognizable symbol of California. (wildlife.ca.gov)

To quote John Thomas Howell, "No poet has yet sung the full beauty of our poppy. No painter has successfully portrayed the satiny sheen of its lustrous petals. In its abundance, this colorful plant should not be slighted: cherish it and be thankful that so rare a flower is common."

Praying dear friends you are continuing to stay safe and well, and I would like to thank those who take the time to view, fave, or comment. It is truly appreciated...

The transition is magnificent... from lustrous pearly white, 4 petaled flowers, with pink pearlescent centers, purple hooked stamens, dots of golden pollen, and more pearly buds, pink at the base, waiting to bloom.

Petals falling, highlighting rosy axis support stems and sepal cups from which magenta seeds will form.

Magenta and purple berry like seeds dramatizing the brilliant rose tones of the stems and deeper tones.

Macro Mondays theme Iron

Fools gold is a common name given to iron pyrite which is a sulfide mineral of iron. It has a wonderfully lustrous surface which is great at reflecting light.

I had two lights pointing at this nugget, one from the top right and one from the bottom left - to try to minimise the shadows cast by the first light. I quite liked the reflections and colours it produced.

I took this this morning but then ran out of time to post and have been struggling to catch up eversince. Now I can sit down and admire everyone elses lovely images!

The width of frame here is just under 4cm.

Happy Macro Monday! 😊

Hypericum perforatum is a herbaceous perennial plant with extensive, creeping rhizomes. Its reddish stems are erect and branched in the upper section, and can grow up to 1 metre (3 feet 3 inches) high. The stems are woody near their base and may appear jointed from leaf scars. The branches are typically clustered about a depressed base. It has opposite and stalkless leaves that are narrow and oblong in shape and 1–2 centimetres (1⁄2–3⁄4 in) long. Leaves borne on the branches subtend the shortened branch lets. The leaves are yellow-green in colour, with scattered translucent dots of glandular tissue. The dots are conspicuous when held up to the light, giving the leaves a perforated appearance. The flowers measure up to 2.5 cm (1 in) across, have five petals and sepals, and are coloured bright yellow with conspicuous black dots. The flowers appear in broad helicoid cymes at the ends of the upper branches, between late spring and early to mid-summer. The cymes are leafy and bear many flowers. The pointed sepals have black glandular dots. The many stamens are united at the base into three bundles. The pollen grains are ellipsoidal. The black and lustrous seeds are rough, netted with coarse grooves. When flower buds (not the flowers themselves) or seed pods are crushed, a reddish or purple liquid is produced. This is an ant-mimic fly, Sepsis sp. "Sepsids are slender flies that resemble minute, winged ants. They are usually black in color, sometimes lustrous, and sometimes with silvery hairs on the thorax. The head is rounded." First time I'd seen this one. In the field, not the garden..

Shifen Waterfall is a scenic waterfall located in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, on the upper reaches of the Keelung River. The falls' total height is 20 metres (66 ft) and 40 metres (130 ft) in width, making it the broadest waterfall in Taiwan. It is a cascade waterfall in which the water flows in one direction and the rock is sloped in the opposite. ( Eextracted From Wikipedia )

This bowl depicts the Oculate Being, a creature named for its oversized circular eyes, popular in the Ica region of the south coast of Peru during the last centuries B.C. The white oval head of the Oculate Being, painted in the middle of the vessel, is the central focus of the scene, its green body extending to one edge. A snakelike appendage, ending in another head, emerges from the mouth. A yellow band along the back of the body terminates in a tail with a triangular tip, recalling the shape of an obsidian knife. The Oculate Being holds a disembodied head whose hair tuft resembles the cords often passed through the frontal bone of skulls found in the Paracas region (sometimes called trophy heads, or curated heads). The outside of the bowl was painted red with a series of yellow felines, shown in profile and facing left.

Paracas-style ceramics are characterized by their vibrant and lustrous colors. Combining mostly mineral pigments with a binding agent, artists created paints that were applied on the surface of the pottery post firing (Kriss et al., 2018).

More at the museum page, and more nice photos. The exterior of the bowl is four smiling felines who look vaguely dinosaurian!

It’s impossible to overemphasise the beauty of Córdoba’s great mosque, with its remarkably serene (despite tourist crowds) and spacious interior. Met my parent's at Mer Bleue today for a nice family walk around the boardwalk (not pictured above). It was an gorgeous day to be outside, the sun was shining and the temperature was warm for mid-October.

The boardwalk was very crowded, but that was to be expected with the weather as it was. Still it was great to be outside.

Update on my health, the cold seems to be on its way out and I am feeling a little more like myself today. Not quite 100%, but probably close to 75%, which is way better than I was, so I'm happy about that.

Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day.

💫 The Art of Skin, Metal, and Desire

Tonight, I stepped into the dim amber light wearing the Justine Dress by Malizia — a daring symphony of texture and temptation. Its deep-cut silhouette plunges down my torso like a whispered secret, while the supple metallic fabric wraps around every curve with liquid precision. The sculpted waistline elongates the form, the high-cut hip teasing the rhythm of movement — a masterpiece of controlled seduction. This isn’t just a dress; it’s an awakening.

✨ HUD Features:

The Justine Dress offers a rich spectrum of metallic tones — each rendered with PBR realism that reflects light like molten silk. The HUD allows you to shift between lustrous chromes, burnished golds, soft coppers, and darkened steels, ensuring every mood, every night, every glance finds its match.

💎 To accent the look, I turned to*JUMO Fashion’s Ariama Earrings — geometric spirals of bold modern art draping from my ears. Their sculptural design flirts with light, framing my face with confidence and allure. Driven by a HUD featuring 20 metal color options, they transform effortlessly from polished platinum to aged bronze, from midnight black to blushed rose-gold. Each shift of hue feels like a change of attitude — daring, sophisticated, unspoken.

And across my skin, the Aminta Tattoo by Venus breathes life into bare flesh — a celestial arrangement of intricate mandalas and lace-like filigree, blending tribal heritage with divine femininity. Every line feels etched by devotion, wrapping the body in storytelling ink — sensual, spiritual, and timeless. With 8 variations from Fresh to Faded, Aged, and Old, it offers an evolving intimacy that mirrors the soul’s passage through desire and memory.

Available for all BOM mesh and fully unisex, its artistry transcends gender, resting only where passion dares to touch.

Sin embargo, en África occidental también se encuentran en las afueras de las ciudades con árboles.

An overcast winter's day in this ancient town ......and the lustrous Tarn River brought a note of tranquility and serene beauty to this treasure of a place and its 1000 year old bridge! The wall in the foreground was formerly part of the Berbie Palace - a fortress built in the 1200's for the Catholic Bishops who were installed in Albi, after the Albigensian Crusade against the so-called heretical sect of Cathars. It is now a fantastic museum dedicated to the art of Toulouse Lautrec who lived and worked in Albi.

The bridge in the foreground "Le Pont Vieux" (Old Bridge) was commissioned in 1035 by the Viscount Trencavel for commercial advantage and mobility. It became a major trading hub from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, and for merchants moving from the north to the south. This bridge is largely responsible for the commercial prosperity of the city of Albi in the Middle Ages.

Plum-purple was the west; but spikes of light

Spear'd open lustrous gashes, crimson-white;

(Where the eye fix'd, fled the encrimsoning spot,

And gathering, floated where the gaze was not;)

And thro' their parting lids there came and went

Keen glimpses of the inner firmament:

Fair beds they seem'd of water-lily flakes

Clustering entrancingly in beryl lakes.

Jute is known as the ‘Golden Fiber’ due to its golden brown color and its importance. In terms of usage, production and global consumption, jute is second only to cotton. It is the fiber used to make hessian sacks and garden twine. Jute is environmentally friendly as well as being one of the most affordable fibers; jute plants are easy to grow, have a high yield per acre and, unlike cotton, have little need for pesticides and fertilizers. Jute is a bast fiber, like flax and hemp, and the stems are processed in a similar way. Jute is an annual crop grown mainly 80% in Bangladesh in the fertile Ganges Delta. Jute fibers are very long (1 to 4 metres), silky, lustrous and golden brown in color.

The angora goat is an ancient breed, with records of the use of goat hair for clothing found as early as the 14th century BC.

In 1550 a Dutchman discovered the goats, which became known as angora goats (angora being a corruption of the word Ankara) and began to generate a demand for their fleece.

In 1554 a pair of angora goats was presented to the Pope in Rome.

Mohair, the name given to the fleece of angora goats, is derived from the Arabic word Mukhaya meaning "cloth of bright lustrous goat hair"

The Sultan of Turkey placed a ban on the export of both raw fleece and goats, and for several centuries they remained incarcerated in Turkey.

Eventually, in the mid-19th century, small numbers of angora goats were exported from Turkey to South Africa and, a little later, to Texas and New Zealand. These animals formed the foundations of the modern national herds in those countries, both by pure breeding and crossing with the indigenous feral goats.

Today, these countries are the biggest producers of angora goats and mohair in the world.

Apart from a few animals presented to Queen Victoria which did not survive, the angora goat did not reach the UK until 1981.

Individual birds are more striking in spring, anyway, when the black of their heads is rich and lustrous, and they get a rosy blush on their white feathers.

They are now on their way to South America for the winter. Morning light.

Gallito de Agua / Northern Jacana ( Jacana spinosa )

status en RD Residente no común (Rnc) / No Common Resident

*Behold the resplendent Northern Jacana (Jacana spinosa), captured with artistic mastery on the 4th of February, 2023, amidst the serene grounds of Hacienda Estrella in the Dominican Republic. Like a vision transported from a naturalist's dream, this avian marvel is adorned in plumage of lustrous gold and earthy brown, crowned with a striking black and yellow frontal shield—a herald of its unique elegance.*

*Pray, cast thine eyes upon its most curious appendages—those elongated toes which bespeak a tale most wondrous. These remarkable feet, spanning an improbable length, confer upon the Jacana its moniker, the “Jesus bird,” for it appears to tread miraculously upon the water's surface. In truth, its spindly toes distribute its weight with finesse, allowing it to traverse the aquatic tapestry of lily pads and vegetation that adorn its habitat.*

*A creature of singular grace, the Northern Jacana is a testament to the ingenuity of the natural world, where beauty and function entwine in harmony. Were such a being to grace the parlours and salons of Victorian naturalists, it would surely inspire a thousand odes and scientific treatises alike.*

Four candy-pink, Ranunculus, beauties.

Persian buttercup (Ranunculus asiaticus) is a perennial plant that can grow to be a foot and a half tall.

They have blooms that resemble roses, with simple , like HERE, or branched stems.

The petals are often highly lustrous, some species are popular ornamental flowers in horticulture, with many cultivars selected for large and brightly coloured flowers.

What got me 'in' to 'flower-photography', was that I was fascinated by ‘light’ and wanted to know more about lighting...

That was 27 years ago, it started with painting and evolved into photography.

Flowers seemed the perfect subject matter, because of their different colours, shapes, textures, great variety and 'characters', I'd had many a garden, grown my own, so, I started out with an advantage, I knew about flowers...

I found a niche in the market, for 16 years now people have been 'raving' about them, asking me how I 'do' it?

Copying, imitating and stealing, photos, words and even titles.

They say it is the highest ‘accolade’ for an artist? LOL.

There is NO magic formula, each flower is unique and treated as such! I do NOT consider myself a 'flower-photographer' but a a photographer who knows how to use lighting well...

Glad you enjoy them.

Thank you for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

I had planned to combine the two shots of this wonderful rose - half-blown and fully open , but both are so stunning, I decided to post each separately- one follows the other.

This beautiful rose is showy and a symphony of colors. The petals have a unique and difficult-to-describe color, a harmonious blend of beige to light pink from the center, and mesmerizing shades of lavender towards the edges. Healthy flowers are vividly contrasting with semi-lustrous green foliage.

Rosa 'Distant Drums' was introduced in 1984 by the Hybridizer Dr.Griffith Buck. He successfully hybridized it in Ames, Iowa. While making this hybrid, Buck was focusing on hardiness, beauty, and color variation. Parentage: a cross between September Song and The Yeoman.

Rosa 'Distant Drums' are tough plants. They have been cultivated for years to develop hardiness and resilience.
