This is the green heron that likes to sit with the wood ducks at the lake. He was sitting on the log, calmly doing some morning preening, when he suddenly jumped up and dashed along the log, looking extremely frenzied. I thought he might have seen a frog or fish that he wanted to catch, but when he reached the end of the log he calmly settled down for a nap. I have no idea what caused his sudden bizarre behavior. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

OK... I need some help on this one.

I'm going for that Full-Moon-Reflecting-In-Inky-Black-Water kind of thing, and some days I think I got it, and other days I don't...

As soon as I saw this moon rise above those hills in the distance, I left my companions and wandered off to this tufa formation. I took my time to compose my shot and didn't think too much of my companions who were looking for me. I guess I was a lunatic!

Being preceded.

Believe it or not. When I planned to go to the Giant's causeway half a year ago, I decided it should be at full moon. It seemed nice to me to photograph this spot with that certain blue moonlight to capture the scenery, looking in the direction of the mountain, with the rising stones in front of me. To the centre where the strip of vulcanic polygonals started. I searched on PE, a few other sites to orientate and suddenly I was shocked to find the image I had in my mind. A capture that was made by Theo Bosboom. He won the third place with it in the ILPotY. So, my idea wasn't really original ? But for sure, I never saw it before. Taken by the surprise, hesitation, confusion, should I leave this spot for what it was ? Evade ? Or go and just relish the atmosphere of the moonlit night ?
