I went to do a photo shoot the other day, and my husband, wandered down the road looking for deer. Instead he found this stunning view ~of course I had to get a picture

I'm starting to appreciate low tide photography a bit more as you can get some really nice sand reflections and textures. I messed up twice; firstly arriving a bit too late for this lovely light, this was actually a quick arrival shot to make sure I had something in the bag.

By the time I positioned myself in front of some interesting rocks and attached my filters the light had all disappeared with next to no colour. It was so uninspiring that I called it quits but then when I got home of course the sky was full of pink streaks 🙈😭

We have just spent a few days in N Devon and I managed to see a cracking sunset at Instow. The beach is covered with boats at low tide and some of them are nice and photogenic.

A large tidal pool left behind on Barassie Beach just pulled me in for this shot of the distant Isle of Arran and crepuscular rays from the edge of a storm cell as the sun was receding towards the horizon.

I don't even care about the completely blown out main highlight in the frame knowing that this scene is just one mile from my new home. I can return, anytime and in any weather. There is a deep sense of peace in that. If you look closely in my previous scene from this sunset you can see the very slight outflow from this tidal pool. It will give a sense of scale, the beach is much deeper than it looks.

Ever since I moved to Scotland 11 years ago I have always been drawn to this stretch of coastline - time and time again. Enjoy.

The Low Lighthouse is one of three lighthouses in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, England and the only one which is still active. It is a Grade II listed building and stands on the foreshore. First lit in 1832, the Low Lighthouse was run in conjunction with the onshore High Lighthouse for then next 137 years. Following improvements to the High Light, the Low Light was then deactivated in 1969; but it was then re-established in 1993.

Burnham-on-Sea is notable for its beach and mudflats, which are characteristic of the Bristol Channel where the tide can recede for over 1.5 miles (2.4 km).

Got lucky one morning when I went to the beach without checking the Tide Tables. Arrived at low tide and was able to enjoy the tide pools and all the ocean critters that live along the rocky shoreline.

Thanks very much for visiting......

Uh-oh, that's really low, I don't think I'll reach it.

Just try again, I love watching you struggle.

I don't know how she does it, but Valeria is always the first, offering her help when it comes to taking pictures for Macro Mondays. In this case it's obvious, anything with keys is her realm, so here we go.

Thanks to a gift from a neighbour she has a new hairdo.

A word to the moderators: If this isn't low key enough, I have a darker version. Just drop me a line.
