The Dartagnan's are on vacation again! This time we chose The Illustria Palms Resort to celebrate Dave's birthday! This is our first day at the resort which is so beautiful and lush, with lots of ammenities. We will surly enjoy a week together at this A+ resort.

The lovebug is a species of march fly found in parts of Central America and the southeastern United States, especially along the Gulf Coast. Localized lovebug flights can number in the millions. Male/female pairs (joined tail-to-tail) will hover in the air, drifting slowly. Two major flights occur each year; the spring flight occurs during late April and May, and the summer flight occurs during late August and September. Flights extend over periods of four to five weeks. Mating takes place almost immediately after emergence of the females. Adult females live only three to four days, while males live a little longer. They have to stick to each other at all times.

Inadvertently demonstrating how the older 50 AF vignettes on a full-frame. But I generally like a little vignetting.
Yesterday while out grocery shopping with my daughter we bought some new toys . She got herself a pick-up truck while I opted for this cute VW bug. When I was a young child, my mom drove a bug. I only have a few memories of the car but the most vivid of which is when I had gotten my tonsils removed and she bought me ice cream to eat in the car. Let's just say it didn't go well.

Drago is getting up there in years, but he's still up for an adventure. We went to the park yesterday for a picnic dinner and a walk and wade and then we decided to explore some back roads. He's such a trooper, even tho he needs a boost to get into the back of the X or the Jeep. He's tired today, just resting amongst the buttercups.
