First portrait session that I have been asked to do (normally offer or force my way in ha!) but this was a really great experience. The clients were great and were happy to let me lead them. They had a few of the, what I would call, normal family shots but they let me get some candids to. Here is Jack with his Dad, I love the fact that they are staring at each other so intently.
These are some old Gatlinburg Tennessee postcards I have from when I was a Kid. I lived there when I was 11. I really miss it. It is the one place I actually cried when It came tome to leave.

I've driven by this little wilderness shelter so many times and have always loved it! Last night as I drove by, these lyrics popped into my head and I thought that this would make a great location.
The song talks about a willingness to give away everything if it would save the loved one. It's all about sacrifice. I had a few of me centered in the shot, but I had this thought that if it were hard to see me; if it seemed as if I was being pushed out of the shot it would exemplify that attitude of becoming less than everything around me; giving everything else the spotlight in order to uplift that love.
I hope I've done a good job of capturing that!
