Looping, 3 years old

Michigan Avenue, Chicago

Although AR2673 has rotated out of view it is still very active. This loop prominence is the latest activity. I managed to capture its dying throws first thing on the morning of the 11th Sept through thin cloud. An hour later it had all but vanished! Lunt LS152, PGR Flea3, with a TeleVue 2.5x Powermate.

Taken Nelstrop Road North bridge where track lifting has reached as we look towards Fairfield/Gorton on the Fallowfield Loop Line, which was opened in 1892 and ran round the south side of Manchester, linking Sheffield Victoria with Manchester Central.

The last train on the Fallowfield Loop Line was behind 47443 on a Freightliner from Trafford Park in October 1988, the Fallowfield Loop Line is now a cycle path.

A typical back road in northern Wisconsin. I was lucky this was in the middle of nowhere so that I could stop and get this image. The road is so narrow that another car couldn't have gotten through easily.

My Loop March Spontaneous Skinning Batt spun up in a skein. These photographs don't show off the rich, royal nature of the skein. It's gorgeous! 180 yards! I'm still debating what to do with it, but I might pair it with some commercially spun yarn in purple and yellow to make a triangular shawl.

Sculpture called Loop, made in stainless steel by Swedish sculptor Eva Hild (b. 1966). Loop is a sculptural body expressing movement, flow and openings. The form of the sculpture is as much about air and volume as about the actual material.

5986 works its way around the Tehachapi Loop in July of 91.

This is it all spun up! I don't remember the yardage anymore... around 200 yards? Something like that.

I spun each batt separately. For each batt, I spun the dark underlayer first, then the lighter top layer. I then plyed the two together, so half is pink/green, less than half is mostly chocolate, and then there's a small transition period.

Its 19:12 PM. 6M00 should have departed Elford loop at 19:07. The light is fading faster and faster. My Mrs has just text me to say dinner is ready! Ive been waiting a full 25 mins for Saltley to accept 6M00 to Kingsbury. A Voyager has just passed and 6E54 has also passed working back to Lyndsey, so there's no reason why 6M00 can't get shifting!!

Luckily the planets aligned, and 60100 got moving.

60100 slowly approaches the farm bridge at Portway with 6M00 14:30 Humber Oil Refinery to Kingsbury Oil Sidings.

edit - my dinner was only partially burnt when I got in 20 mins later!

The Panorama Express is negotiating the Wassen loops. Looking back at where we have been, we are on an upper level. The small town of Wasser lies below in the valley. Knowing where and in what direction you are going here can be a bit confusing. The train is moving at about 45 mph (80kph?). You look out at the church at Wasser on one side of the train, and a few minutes later, it's on the other side, then back again on the first side. I remember going over this route in the mid-1960s and seeing this place.––photo by Joe McMillan. September 20, 2024.

Es mucho más bonita en persona y no sé si este será su look definitivo pero la he visto con un aire tan dulce que por el momento se quedará así. 6 Loop babycakes.. 3 brown, 3 pink/white.

Spun each one, repeating brown, pink/white, brown etc.. so there will be color stripes, but the stripes will be slightly different, because each babycake was different.

This is fluffy and sparkley and a HUGE skien!!

A time lapse of Q693 and Q694 traversing a section of the Loops, as viewed from the North Cove Overlook of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

8:32PM- photograph began as Q693 rounds the bend near the center of the picture and continues toward the bottom right (railroad south), crossing Peppers Creek at Camp Two in the area of red light. A car's headlight traveling Peppers Creek Rd can also be seen intersecting the railroad at the crossing.

9:07PM- Q694 rounds the bend midway through Rocky (where Q693 is waiting) on the mountainside to the far left of the photo. They will continue toward the bottom of the photograph (railroad north) and are beginning the swing back around the reversal curve towards Camp Two just to the left of bottom center 7 minutes later.

9:40PM- After Q694 makes their way around by Little Switzerland, they emerge from Pine Ridge Tunnel in the area directly above the Camp Two Crossing and continue toward the far right side of the photograph (railroad north) towards Ridge Tunnel.

The streaks in the upper right hand corner are cars traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. The orange light and open area just below that is the Orchard at Altapass. The very bright orange area on the left side of the photograph is the trailer drop lot for Baxter. All the lights in the far background would be Woodlawn on into Marion.
