A time lapse of Q693 and Q694 traversing a section of the Loops, as viewed from the North Cove Overlook of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
8:32PM- photograph began as Q693 rounds the bend near the center of the picture and continues toward the bottom right (railroad south), crossing Peppers Creek at Camp Two in the area of red light. A car's headlight traveling Peppers Creek Rd can also be seen intersecting the railroad at the crossing.
9:07PM- Q694 rounds the bend midway through Rocky (where Q693 is waiting) on the mountainside to the far left of the photo. They will continue toward the bottom of the photograph (railroad north) and are beginning the swing back around the reversal curve towards Camp Two just to the left of bottom center 7 minutes later.
9:40PM- After Q694 makes their way around by Little Switzerland, they emerge from Pine Ridge Tunnel in the area directly above the Camp Two Crossing and continue toward the far right side of the photograph (railroad north) towards Ridge Tunnel.
The streaks in the upper right hand corner are cars traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. The orange light and open area just below that is the Orchard at Altapass. The very bright orange area on the left side of the photograph is the trailer drop lot for Baxter. All the lights in the far background would be Woodlawn on into Marion.

The last train on the Fallowfield Loop Line was behind 47443 on a Freightliner from Trafford Park in October 1988, the Fallowfield Loop Line is now a cycle path.

With Reddish Demolition in attendence we are on Nelstrop Road North bridge looking towards Levenshulme along the Fallowfield Loop Line, which was opened in 1892 and ran round the south side of Manchester, linking Sheffield Victoria with Manchester Central.
The last train on the Fallowfield Loop Line was behind 47443 on a Freightliner from Trafford Park in October 1988, the Fallowfield Loop Line is now a cycle path.

The Edinburgh 'Bin' train is seen passing the loops to the east of Drem station on the 4th November 2016. This is 6B45 , Powderhall - Oxwellmains household waste train and is passing here at 1053 with 67016 hauling the train.
Very tiny flower, really like the loops in the center. Very shallow DOF.
A few very quick handheld flower shots at our nearby park, very breezy. Hoping to go back again. Lots of rain forecast the next 7-10 days but hopefully a few breaks.
i wanted to capture this strange loop surrounded with many tall residences.
the loop turns 360 degree and back to the same direction and the going and returning lines looks run relatively long distance in parallel in a residence area not in beautiful place.
the line looks not to use for a while.
i couldn't understand the reason why the line turns here and checked Wiki.

6 Loop babycakes.. 3 brown, 3 pink/white.
Spun each one, repeating brown, pink/white, brown etc.. so there will be color stripes, but the stripes will be slightly different, because each babycake was different.
This is fluffy and sparkley and a HUGE skien!!

Big Springs Loop Road, starting and ending at junctions with US 20.The middle of the loop crosses the river immediately below the springs.
Had a visit to the Mach loop and what a day of entertainment we was given by the ladies and gentlemen in the magnificent flying machines
Nous Vous - 'Fresh Ones’ at Loop Arts Fair
For our part in Loop we set up painting studio under our ‘Fresh Ones’ banner. Alongside our fast becoming standard product range we scoured Leeds for rogue bits of wood, got some recycled paint and made spontaneous paintings over the two days.
Tonight's sunset over the fields by our house gave me the feeling of Simon Stålenhags Tales from the Loop. The old Volvo left in the middle of the field definitely helped to set the tone.

When not 'dictated' by a client, I take images that come out of my brain, the birth of the idea, the development of it, my vision and the creation, my enjoyment and the challenge, the hype and the anticipation, the struggle and disappointment of the failures, the gathering of your courage to try again... the stamina, the madness some love to call passion?
The playing with light, to me, the ultimate high, I don't need anything else. Once the image is there, I'm content, and if it 'inspires' others, releases an emotion, that's wonderful!
And I've seen how my photos have 'inspired' many!
I'm not stupid to think that everybody is going to like, let alone understand my image, but I can easily live with that, because I do not have that expectation!
I, in the first place, have to be happy with it, the quality, the composition, EVERYTHING, it has to be immaculate, I have to stand by it 100% or the outside world will NEVER see it!
That goes for my pro AND my free work (what you see here).
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Whilst on holiday in North Wales it would be rude not to visit the Mach Loop. This was my first time visiting the Mach Loop and I was graced with my first fly by within 15 minutes of arriving. Many a time I have heard that you can sit up this hillside all day and not see anything. We had near perfect weather and I think the aircrew must have taken advantage of the conditions for training, as we were only there for a couple of hours and had several fly by's by Texans and F35 Lightnings. This Texan Training aircraft out of RAF Valley on the Anglesey an island off the north west coast of Wales.
This may be one of my last commutes into the Loop, since, in about two weeks my company is moving to the suburbs, or as I refer to it, the LBO (Land Beyond O'Hare). Yuck! My goal? Work from home as much as possible.

At 2100hrs on Monday 22 May 2023, DB Cargo loco no. 66165 exits the down loop at Yatton in North Somerset with 6V71, the Cliffe Vale (1507hrs) to Exeter Riverside china clay hoppers. This train had been held to allow the passing of a Cross Country Trains working from Edinburgh to Plymouth. The rear lights of this Voyager DMU can be seen further down the line.
