Neal, Alan, and James with Llamas and Skeeter hiking the Lost Lake Trail - Clemens Cabin Loop on a very cold wet day in early spring
On the surf side of Bribie Island lies a piece of Brisbane's World War 2 history. This particular building was part of a system known as an "Indicator Loop" (RAN Station 4) which was a system designed to detect submarine intrusion into Moreton Bay.
This image shows the north-east (surf) side of the building, and was taken with a Canon 600D and Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 lens. I was hoping to catch a Perseid meteor or two, but it wasn't my lucky night!

A little inchworm to get the Flickr week going. From the near-mythical Hub of the Backyard (i.e. the corner fencepost where all bugs' paths cross).
I took this photo in Loop street. It is of a small general store, which was closed on that day. Someone parked their cute, Volkswagen beetle in front of it. It was a very nice, quiet day in Loop street. Taken at: Loop Street / Cape Town

"Looking for some family fun?
Take this 35-mile, scenic drive through the valley's orchards, forests, farmlands, and friendly communities. Sample delicious fruits and take your favorites home, visit a winery, experience fields of fragrant lavender, meet adorable alpacas, savor delicious baked goods, and create memories by participating in family activities hosted at Fruit Loop locations throughout the year.
The Fruit Loop is just an hour away from Oregon's largest city, Portland. Located in the national scenic area called the Columbia River Gorge, and the nation's largest pear-growing region, this is one of the few places that offers the complete experience of growing, producing, and then enjoying fruit and wine."
This was really a lot of fun, we may go back this spring when all the trees are in blossom.
Chicago Loop is one of 77 officially designated community areas located in the City of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is the historic commercial center of Downtown Chicago.
On a Steel Train that I relieved at Rotherham about 1996, Derby Power Box put me behind a Toton man with his Coaltrain, after I had punched my class 56 locker I felt better and took the picture!.... this is in Elford Loop, between Burton and Tamworth!
Student Davena found this interesting looking looper caterpillar in our beech forest plot and we put it on this Coprosma to photograph. I don't know what its host plant is.

About the center of this massive "Red Rock" formation near Morrison, just outside of Denver, Colorado, you can see a bit of the "Trading Post Loop Trail" that leads from the SW parking lot to the amphitheatre, this is on the back side of "Ship Rock".... This kind of gives an optical illusion, as this trail is rather steep and leads up to monolith rocks that are taller than Niagara Falls, it's quite impressive....

Red Rocks Park has long been a destination gathering place, first used by members of the Native American Ute tribe and later by music lovers following park enhancements in the 1930’s and 40’s. Acquired by the City of Denver in 1928, the park takes its name from the large, red sandstone boulders that occupy much of the area and come together to form the amphitheater. Estimated to be nearly 300 million years old, the rocks form several stunning formations throughout the park, including the Sea of Pluto, resembling a giant mushroom, and the stair-stepped Cave of the Seven Ladders. The most visited rock formations are Ship Rock, Stage Rock and Creation Rock, all surrounding the amphitheater.

The 868-acre Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills just 15 miles outside of Denver near Morrison, was once listed among the Seven Wonders of the World—and with good reason. Ship Rock and Creation Rock, the largest of the monoliths, tower 300 feet above the Red Rocks Amphitheater. These massive brick-colored sandstone monoliths are taller than Niagara Falls.
