Unfortunately my car was in for servicing, so my movements were restricted when it came to seeing GB IX today. So it was a train to Donny and later back to Wakefield and go to Kirkgate for the returning ‘Jube’.

"Photography is a craft that is acquired over many years!"
And the camera is only the tool!
When not 'dictated' by a client, I take images that come out of my brain, the birth of the idea, the development of it, my vision and the creation, my enjoyment and the challenge, the hype and the anticipation, the struggle and disappointment of the failures, the gathering of your courage to try again... the stamina, the madness some love to call passion?
The playing with light, to me, the ultimate high, I don't need anything else. Once the image is there, I'm content, and if it 'inspires' others, releases an emotion, that's wonderful!
And I've seen how my photos have 'inspired' many!
I'm not stupid to think that everybody is going to like, let alone understand my image, but I can easily live with that, because I do not have that expectation!
I, in the first place, have to be happy with it, the quality, the composition, EVERYTHING, it has to be immaculate, I have to stand by it 100% or the outside world will NEVER see it!
That goes for my pro AND my free work (what you see here).
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope that you enjoyed my 'rave'?
Take care, all the best and above all... enjoy your photography.
If the day comes I don't enjoy it anymore... I'll GIVE AWAY all my gear (it's a lot, gathered over the years, please don't hold your breath, heeeee), M, (*_*)

The Cygnus Loop (or the Veil Nebula) is the best-observed old supernova remnant. A beautiful filamentary object roughly in the form of a circular arc in Cygnus. Its patchiness is striking: the loop consists of a series of wisps rather than a continuous cloud of gas. The Cygnus Loop appears as a faint ring of glowing gases about three degrees across (six times the diameter of the full moon), located in the northern constellation Cygnus the Swan. The supernova remnant is within the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy and is 2,600 light-years away. As the supernova blast wave slams into tenuous clouds of interstellar gas, the resulting collision heats and compresses the gas, causing it to glow. The shock acts as a searchlight by revealing the structure of the interstellar medium.
The visual portion of the Cygnus Loop is known as the Veil Nebula, also called the Cirrus Nebula or the Filamentary Nebula. Several components have separate names and identifiers, including NGC 6960, the Western Veil, is the western part of the remnant, also known as the "Witch's Broom”. NGC 6992, NGC 6995, and IC 1340, three luminous areas make up the Eastern Veil, also known as the “Bat Nebula”. NGC 6974 and NGC 6979. These two objects are the two brighter knots of nebulosity in a cloud at the northern edge of the loop, and Pickering's Triangle, Also known as Pickering's Wedge, or Pickering's Triangular Wisp.
This my return visit after capturing NGC6992 when I started Astrophotography August 2020. Taken over 2 nights with not particularly good seeing or transparency, I managed to secure 6 hours of Ha and Oiii 5minute subs to process this HOO image. Gain 100 -5C.

The Citrus Loop, located in the Citrus County Tract of the Withlacoochee state forest is one of the most widely used portions of the Florida National Scenic Trail. It traverses a varied landscape and passes through a myriad of habitat over 43 miles of trails. The loop is one of the rare places containing dry caves in Florida. A highlight of the loop is considered to be Lizzie Hart Sink, where the sandy scrub habitat gives way to rocky, tropical foliage. These pictures were taken in a dry moment on a rainy day while hiking with the Florida Trail Association at their 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The Taylor Creek Loop is a trail west of Cocoa in Central Florida. The trail is located largely in the western portion of the St. Johns River floodplain, of which its namesake, Taylor Creek, is part of. The trail is named after Taylor Creek, but actually features but rare views of the creek. Instead it gives you view of Florida's most iconic tree, the palm tree.
Being part of the Tosohatchee WIldlife Management Area, this trail is not a sterile romp through the woods. In fact, the day I hiked it, very large portions of it were underwater.
This one is a pretty good one I guess... I used the 100mm macro lens for this as it is a faster lens than the kit lens I have. I am limited in space though, so I have to stand in the corner to shoot. I am learning; it's a little overexposed on her forehead, but I have found that the pictures look hot in the preview on the camera but when I put the RAW file into Affinity Photo, I can compensate for it mostly, so in the future, I will experiment with f2.8 perhaps or something. I had one light plus a bounce light for this one. I developed in Affinity Photo.
Today Mandy and I met at the car park in Jevington and we walked up to Friston Forest to use our macro lenses. It was grey and misty with very light rain coming and going. We had no route so just bimbled about making it up as we went along we had lunch in West Dean Church and so I had an 80mm macro lens and it was surprisingly adaptable to landscapes and general image making. So a great variety of all sorts for the day. As always a great day with lots to see and explore and definitely a place which needs many more visits at all times of year.
