The Panorama Express is negotiating the Wassen loops. Looking back at where we have been, we are on an upper level. The small town of Wasser lies below in the valley. Knowing where and in what direction you are going here can be a bit confusing. The train is moving at about 45 mph (80kph?). You look out at the church at Wasser on one side of the train, and a few minutes later, it's on the other side, then back again on the first side. I remember going over this route in the mid-1960s and seeing this place.––photo by Joe McMillan. September 20, 2024.

From last evening at Elk Island National Park. I don't think there is anything more relaxing to me than a couple of hours with a camera in an interesting place with a brilliant sky ;D
The Camouflaged Looper caterpillar (Synchlora sp.) is a master of disguise. Its most identifiable characteristic is its habit of attaching severed flower bits onto its body. Like a combat soldier who affixes leaves and branches to his uniform, this tiny looper has mastered the art of disappearing into its surroundings. While adorned in its flowered regalia, the caterpillar will sway back and forth, as if to simulate part of the flower fluttering in the breeze.
After each molt, the cloak is shed and replenished with a new array of plant material.
Wavy-Lined Emerald is denoted as the common name in reference to the appearance of the adult moth. Several Synchlora subspecies occur south of the Mason-Dixon line, so accurate identification is limited to raised adults.

The building at 65 E. Wacker Place currently houses a Morton’s The Steakhouse on the ground floor. Above it, 252 residential units will replace vintage office space that dates back nearly a century.
Constructed in 1928, the former Millinery Mart Building was once home to the city’s hat-making industry in a part of Downtown then known as the “furniture row” district, according to planning documents.
