Demodara Loop
The most fascinating colonial railway civil engineering marvels in Sri Lanka.The British rulers designed and constructed Demodara railway track by circling round a small hill and going through a tunnel below the station. The station is on the top of the hill just above the tunnel. According to legend, the shape of this railway lines has been derived from the “cowl worm” by the villagers.

Borchert loop is what they now call the road I was taking the hanging tree pic from. It’s really the same as Old Fentress which I live on but it takes a 90 degree turn at the tree. On my way to work this morning I took the pic with the fog laying low on the ground.
