Looking straight up in New York

addtionally she is working as a part-time model

We started out at the Looking Glass overlook on the Blue Ridge parkway in the pre-dawn looking for a sunrise. There were no clouds, but there are lots and lots of ridges between the BRP and the horizon. I've never been to that overlook in the morning so wasn't aware it was so popular. After the dawn I know it is rightly popular.

I really didn't get what I wanted from the sunrise, I had a malfunction with the big lens. It just would not work! So while the best of the light show was going on, it had to have been the best judging by the number of shutter sounds emanating around me...I changed to the 24-105. Didn't give me the compression I needed, but it was better than nuttin! I guess I'll have to pay Canon a second time to fix the lens...

We drove around the BRP for a bit stopping to get different views of Looking Glass mountain and finally went down to a waterfall on Looking Glass creek that Lara and I had scouted but not imaged. I really think this waterfall and cascade area would be better if I could get in the water, but its cold now and the water was fast flowing, so I stayed to the relative safety of the rocks.

This is two exposures, one for the sky and the other for the water. I could not even with the 2 stop GND filter get the sky in the upper right to not blow out. This is about a 30 second exposure too. Or there abouts. It is rather gaudy in a way, but that's how I felt this morning as I processed it.

look how bright her hair is *-* I missed that.

St. Nicholas Church, our local church, was built back in 1907 and I would guess that's relatively young in comparison to many the churches in our neighbourhood.

Look so smooth

Better tell me the truth

Would you trade me

Out for someone cool?

I know you better than you do

So put out your cigarette

Kiss me on

The lips tonight

Halloween slip?? Should it be orange or black?

A nice view of Streymoy (where the capital Torshavn is) from the ridge on Vágar

Two palm fronds on an orange wall along the roadway between Playa la Ropa and Centro Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. The morning sun highlighted them both without any shadow. It looked like the fronds were painted on the wall but were about a foot in front.

Looking east to what I believe are the Catalina Mountains, saw this view on a late afternoon walk today. The mountain on the left is snow-capped below those clouds.

Two images stitched together with camera software, the stitching healed in GIMP. In LR, auto tone applied, HSL adjustments, vignetting.

The temps are expected to drop to around 24F tonight and may do so for the next several nights. Bundle up Tucsonans!

That cute puppy look, like I didn't do ANYTHING wrong! I definitely didn't eat your sandwich mom! lol

Did her weekly picture tonight she is so cute and SO well behaved. Seriously the best puppy I have ever had! Jasper has always be my camera dog but Vada is surely butting in! I have never had a puppy allow me to put so many props on them and she is a natural, such a ham!

Tomorrow we are having pool day, decided to boot out the beach and just stay home and let everyone play in the pool and bath the berners then we need to practice are obedience :)

Made an ugly hand look a little uglier in picnik. Used at my blog.

Edit: I just realized this made Explore, #433. Been as high as #277, that I know of. Only my 3rd photo to do so. Thanks everyone! :)
