A Swedish author had written about how beautiful the Swedish red painted
houses had looked to her when returning home from Denmark in the small hours
of the morning. So I thought I'd try to capture that atmosphere - though it
did involve getting up at 3.45am!
Fairbanks is an interesting study in architectural contrasts. This old log building and house are right behind the previous shots of the batting cages and the pumping station.
Situated on the north bank of the Chena River it was probably an old homestead in what is now a commercial area. But Fairbanks has lots of weird and sometimes old residences mixed right in with more modern buildings.
