Jen made this for Matt & Brandi's election watch party! Awesome, right?!
A shot of Brandi and I at the party! (Thanks, Brandi, for getting Christy to take this cute picture of us.)
Nice to spend a few hours on a Friday afternoon playing around with some personal design projects. Felt like doing something Helvetica and typographic again. Oh my, what a surprise.
A semi educational poster on the importance of using Helvetica. This is in preference to the socially destructive Arial.
There is no margin for negotiation.

WEEK 28 - “Secret” Walmart Grand Opening, Revisited
Turning around, here's a look at the store's seafood department. A little bit of everything signage-wise made its way into this photo, all of which exemplify why I love black décor 2.0 so much! For example, you've got...
- the department name, in Walmart's signature font, beside a universally understandable icon;
- a colorful photo which serves to further indicate the department's product offerings while also infusing some much-needed life to the otherwise black-on-white signage;
- two different pastel-colored spark logo posters which similarly help to add color, as well as bookend the department sign and serve as color-coded visual cues all across the store (the two colors shown here being reserved for grocery), not to mention reinforce the spark as Walmart's logomark and all that it stands for;
- and even a smaller seafood sign underneath all of this, featuring a different font and icon that nonetheless continue to tie in to the existing design, and smartly switch the color scheme to the inverse of white-on-black for contrast.
I don't know what's more impressive: this décor package, or how long that sentence was, lol! XD Seriously though, this is hands-down my favorite Walmart décor (if not in all of retail, even). (cont.)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

I'm hoping to date this by the design of the Speedball logomark. Any ideas?

Identity guidelines for Wavepulse Acoustics logo imjustcreative.com/identity-guidelines-for-wavepulse-acou...
This is a single page A4 identity guide. It's purpose is to provide basic guidelines for the correct usage of the logo. As some projects are only providing logo designs, opposed to more complex brand identities, the amount of information needed is minimal. It's not meant to confuse or overwhelm the client, hence it being a handy A4 PDF file.
Covers the general construction of the logo, dimensions and proportions. Also includes the additional logo styles such as contained logos, portrait and landscape logos, social media profile images and website favicon. Information on the fonts used as well as a few handy 'don't do this with your logo' examples at the foot of the guide.
This is a neat way to also show the client, at a glance, the level of detail that goes into a logo, the spacing, the alignment, proportions etc. On initial glance, the logo may look simple with a word here and logomark there, there is fine level of detail to ensure the logo looks and feels right.
It has been a challenge to try to fit all the information I wanted onto one page, without over crowding, whilst maintaining a clean layout design.
Therefore, my focus is to provide each client with this 'Dummies Guide to logo usage' PDF guide. The majority of clients will get this A4 guide without question, this includes logo designs with a budget of more than £400. If the project or client requires a higher level of detail in the guide, they can pay more for a more detailed book.
The typeface in use for the lettering »I Love Wood Type« in the center inside the circle is called »Veneer« and was created by Ryan Martinson | Yellow Design Studio.
Veneer from Yellow Design Studio is a high resolution hand-crafted letterpress font that’s vintage and authentic with a touch of grunge. It’s highly customizable with six distress options for every letter and three for all other characters, and because it’s remarkably detailed, it looks great even at very large sizes. In addition it includes a matching set of funky extras…for free!
The Veneer family includes Veneer, Veneer Two, and Veneer Three with Veneer containing the least distressed characters and Veneer Three the most. Mix and match as desired to create realistic letterpress type.
They all want you to think like that and deliver something revolutionary every time. It can`t be done every single time. Should it be chased?

Reversioning the Coca-Cola logo based on Pepsi.
This was fun as I wanted to get the Coca-Cola ribbon in the logomark.
Just a spin on my previous 'No. I don't design logos' poster.
This one is based on a recently taken passport photo, which I have decided to use as a new profile picture for the likes of Twitter, FaceBook etc.
Set in Helvetica, of course.
