U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Andrew Price, a petroleum lab specialist with the 373rd Quartermaster Battalion, Jeffersonville, Ind., tests a fuel sample during QLLEX 2017, July 21, at Fort Bragg, NC. QLLEX, short for Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise, is the U.S. Army Reserve’s premier readiness exercise for fuel and water distribution. This year’s QLLEX is not only a full demonstration of the capability, combat-readiness, and lethality of America’s Army Reserve to put fuel and water where it is needed most – in the vehicles and hands of the war-fighter and maneuver units – but it also further exercises the interoperability of the U.S. Army Reserve alongside active Army and British Army logisticians. I shot this panorama with the wide... at 10mm. I couldn't believe that the stitching turned out so well given the amount of distortion in each frame.

This is an incredible building... the design of the place — with regard to acoustics and logisitics — is probably unmatched.

I wish I had the opportunity to shoot this with a tripod at a lower ISO... the noise is rather pronounced.

Bigger.

Todays task is water. There is no reliable water. The tanks are dead (Frank a 63K litre tank is suspect with the inner poly liner burning to the waterline), the bore head is shot and there is no power to run it. There is also no power board to connect it. All have been destroyed. So todays task is secure a new 1K litre ruggedised water tank called a shutz. New because you want to store & transport drinking water. Where do you get them? Turns out "K" works in logisitics and is familiar with where to find such stuff.

So it's off to WestEnd Pallets in Williamstown. These blokes are pretty keenly snapped up so I consider myself lucky. The delivery details have been given. Now it's going to sisters house then DOP then Kinglake West.

The beach, should have bought my togs.

Another shot courtesy of Flickr user m20wc51, this one from a set of slides taken in Korean and Japan between 1951-53. This is definitely a US Army ship (yes, in those days there was a whole mini-Navy run by the Army, for troop transports and logisitics mainly) but this is likely a Japanese harbour, as evidences by the Japanese flags on at least two ships in the background. Thus, possibly Sasebo, or Yokohama; the former was a big US base at the time and the latter was one of the ports used by Shinnihon Line, one of whose ships is visible in the background, centre.

The original shot is here, for purposes of comparison. I've also straightened the shot a little bit.
