On July 4th 2011, over 200 people attended the Commission's Consultation on Social Assistance Review in Hamilton,Ontario Canada. This is what one focus group had to say on, "Future of Social Assistance."

Future of Social Assistance
1.) We recommend a more transparent system and an education of the elector of the province to ensure that they understand the issues that are being discussed and debated - the fact that, "Poverty" is no longer politicized - used as leverage - and against, in a divisive manner in our province.
2.) We employ commissioners to MAKE A BOLD MOVE. Not come back with a tepid recommendation. BE BOLD, go for it - put the ball through the upright.
- to propose a response to localized funding that cuts across jurisdictions. We can't do this in isolation. Understand the interrelationship between Federal, provincial and municipal funding to ensure that there's a sense of an envelope which local communities can control input in to. That addresses issues such as HOUSING, HEALTH, obvious things we have to look at national and provincial drug plans.

Localization: Yunnan Province, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefectures, and several discrits between them.
The traditional market day in Menghun has a long history, as Menghun Town is one of the ancient Twelve Dai Regions and is situated at the center of Menghai County. Throughout history, the traditional market day in Menghun has been an important occasion for local ethnic minorities such as the Dai, Hani, Lahu, Bulang, and Wa, who engage in weekly exchanges and trade of goods and daily necessities. It is renowned as “one of the liveliest and most ethnically distinctive markets in Xishuangbanna.”
On market days, a bustling trade takes place, featuring a variety of ecological agricultural products, ethnic snacks, traditional handmade crafts, and various traditional ethnic costumes. People can savor famous local specialties such as the 201 soft rice and He Kai ancient tree tea. Additionally, there are items with rich ethnic flavors, such as Dai traditional handmade paper, traditional bamboo crafts, traditional pottery, and traditional costumes of the Hani and Lahu ethnic groups. Local products like winter melon pork, free-range chickens, pickled beef skin, pickled fish, wild bananas, red peanuts, vegetables, bitter bamboo shoots, sweet bamboo shoots, bamboo shoots, giant black bees, honey, glutinous corn, and self-baked liquor are also traded on market days. These transactions make the market day a lively and ethnically distinctive event, an integral part of the local residents’ lives.

Eastern Tailed Blue - Cupido comyntas – is a native butterfly that is very common in the eastern United States and southeastern Canada, scarcer and more localized in the western U.S. and Mexico and south to Costa Rica. It often visits flowers in gardens, parks, roadsides, forest paths, and meadows and is frequently seen on lawns. It flies spring to fall and often produces 3 broods. It is the only tailed blue butterfly (tribe Polyommatini) in the east, though the tails may be short or missing on worn individuals. The hindwing has one to three orange spots near the base of the tail. The male is bright blue above, the female mostly blackish blue with blue basally in the spring. Both have one or two orange spots near the tail when seen from above. 23-28 mm wingspan in United States; 16-26 mm in Canada. Tribe Polyommatini are all very small butterflies, mostly blue above though the females of many species are browner. In general the fieldmarks of these species are on the underside of their wings. They tend to fly slow, with lots of up-and-down fluttering. They may rub their hindwings together while perched. Males often gather in “puddle parties” around wet soil. Larval foodplants include the flowers and seeds of many legumes including White Clover (Trifolium repens), Red Clover (T. pratense), and Cow Vetch (Vicia cracca). . Males patrol near the host plants during daylight hours. Females lay eggs on flower buds; caterpillars eat buds, flowers, and seeds. This butterfly has a low flight and a short proboscis, thus is found at flowers close to the ground which are open or short-tubed. These include white sweet clover, shepherd's needle, wild strawberry, winter cress, cinquefoils, asters, and others. Unlike most butterflies, this species has thrived where its habitat has been encroached upon by human activities. It is common along freshly mowed roadsides, flying to puddles. Western Tailed Blue (Cupido amyntula) is larger, has fewer wing markings, and is paler beneath. It occurs throughout most of the western half of North America. This is the only other species of this genus in the New World though 16 additional species can be found in the old world. Jim P. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) for unmanned vehicles requires real-time feature data about the vehicle’s environment. Bachelor of Engineering students Tomohiro Berry, Joyce Chung, Vincent Dowling, and Frances Wang developed an integrated hardware and software solution to this problem. The group produced five components as part of their solution: hardware, device drivers (hardware support libraries), image capture software, feature detection and extraction software, and feature tracking software.
