The Bugis Schooners were often loaded with bags of concrete or Rice. The work is back breaking, but this worker was happy to see us and gave us a big smile. The guys loading the concrete bags would carry two 50kg bags on their shoulders as they walked up the gangplank to load the boats.

This flight, our second-to-last of the day, was a bit of a disaster. First, the ignitor was a dud. So we had to wait 60 seconds and then figure out what was up. When we finally got a new one put in, we sent it up and the parachute didn't deploy--it separated from the rocket, and probably ended up in Connecticut. Oh well. I'm gonna make a new one! And the rocket itself was none the worse for wear...we'll shoot it off again next time.

My Roommate (Gabe Davis) and I planned on going on a motorcycle trip to Las Vegas, down to LA and then back home to Salem Oregon. On the way to Vegas we were heading over the pass and got hit with what seemed like a blizzard, Gabe lost control of his bike and shortly after I lost control of mine. We both came out ok but our bike had to much damage to continue. Lucky for us our friend brad came to the rescue and drove almost 8 hours to come get us. This is when we were loading up in town just about to head out
LOAD Day Three
While I am a fan of titles on my pages, today proves they might not be 100% necessary.
Journaling reads:
"I started saving & printing inspirational quotes & sayings that I found on Pinterest. One afternoon, armed with a stack of freshly printed words of wisdom & a couple rolls of washi tape, I decorated the main wall at the top of the stairs. I love seeing the pops of cool & a daily dose of motivation. 2/2014"

Day Thirteen
I wasn't happy with any of the results from the Ebay search...so I went a little different route and just scrapped a few pictures I'd been holding onto for awhile.
Little random...but as you know by now, so am I.
The photo on the left is elevated with pop dots and lines up with the second picture.
Journaling reads:
"One of my FAVORITE things about the car show was riding in the new jeep on a really interesting obstacle course : over logs, on an angle, up a SUPER steep hill & then down the hill with NO BRAKES! It was totally AWESOME! It makes me want a jeep maybe more now than EVER! Such a fun adventure. 2011 :)"

Day 15, frames.....I opted for some journaling tag frames....fits a prompt from another project I am doing "betcha didn't know" things about me........
Strayed from my usual white or kraft background and went for a slightly pink one....
Clearly I chose the "use red, white, and black" adventure today. LOL! My process video is uploading and as soon as it's finished I'll add the link.
Process Video can now be found here: youtu.be/Sgf2ISQ6HVk
Can I just say how fun this LOAD challenge has been? And how much fun I had creating a process video every day too? SO MUCH FUN!! I hope you guys enjoyed them too. If you haven't seen any of them then I encourage you to check them out. If you like my style at all I break down all my decisions as much as I can in my voice overs. I love this hobby and if I can help even one person love it as much as I do, then I will be a very happy woman!
internet went out this is the first one I missed the deadline on. think i might go back and change a few things. not really happy with it

Someone recently used the Scenic Route Halloween paper and I remembered I still had a bunch in my stash so thought I would use it for the only pics I have for this year's Halloween.
Not sure about the title placement on this one - I might move it around later but wanted to get this one posted since dh and I are heading out tonight!

Understanding Load Sway and Tips To Prevent It!
When an object is hung from the hook of an overhead crane, it exhibits a natural swing similar to a pendulum swing, when the trolley starts moving or comes to a halt. This is what we term as load sway. Since a long time, crane operators have tried minimising load sway by timing crane movement in a strategic manner. The most common method to control load sway is to make sure that the crane is centred over the load. However, there are chances that the load will still swing before it finally settles down, thereby giving the crane owner no other option than to wait for the load to settle down by itself.
