This is what I'm surrounded with - unscraped pictures of my daughter and I really want to get some done while I have the time and energy (it's been a while since I have scrapped, so LOAD has been well worth the $$$). Anyway, I loved today's prompt and all the layouts in the gallery, so took some pictures to give the prompt a go another day. I love this layout.

Here is the next page from the Disney '06 book.

This one was a little hard for me to write. If you read it, you will understand why. I love to write, so that wasn't the issue. It was the topic. It breaks my heart to think about this little girl. I get a lump in my throat. However, I had to tell the story because it really did make an impact on my husband and me. And I needed to get it out quickly. Pretty much what I typed is what you see. I just couldn't bear doing much editing. The other thing I had to consider as a writer was that this is our DISNEY album. I didn't want to make the story too depressing.

("Chickie" who I mention in the story was my husband's dear grandmother.)

You can't read the text very well. Here it is:

Sometimes you just end up in the right place at the right time... for a reason. Pat and I had the afternoon to ourselves at MGM (and later headed to Epcot). We saw Mickey and Minnie posing for pictures and we couldn't resist waiting in line to meet them. While we stood there, a Disney cast member escorted a small group of people to the front of the line. The little girl in the picture was part of that group. Pat and I both gasped at what we saw - she was a Make-a-Wish child. This organization has always held a special place in our hearts - it was Chickie's favorite charity and we had also adopted it as ours. Looking at this little girl, we were struck with a strange mix of emotions; we were sad that this adorable child was a Wish recipient but we were also happy for her that her wish had come true. It's a strange combination, especially while standing in line to meet two giant mice at the Happiest Place on Earth. But that little girl reminded us, ever so simply and quietly, to be happy and appreicate... well, everything. Even giant mice.

God, this one was a hard one. But I knew it was the right photo. My husband took our 3 yo to the cemetery to meet his grandpa for the first time. It still brings tears to my eyes. Anyway, Sean has been asking about Johns daddy, and asking. On top of that, he is fascinated with death. So, John took him while I was cropping at my LSS.

How it relates... John and I are obsessed with genealogy. We have been working on our family trees on ancestry.com. I've got over 1000 people in my tree. John has over 850. And we both have Great-grandparents that we haven't found on one line. Sean has picked up this importance of family, and wanting to know all about it. We love that. We also love that Sean asked for time to talk to his grandpa alone. More tears. So sad that I have yet to meet him too.

Oh yeah... Now that it's done, I'm sad I decided to sew on the page. I may redo, just to remove the stitching.

I am a bit embarrassed to upload this but it's late now and I won't have time to do it again! I've messed up the spraying! The visual triangle is 3 snowflakes but you can't really see the one at the top! I LOVE this photo though! We don't often get snow and here are my favourite beach huts covered in a snowy white blanket!
