Klaipeda is Lithuania's third city, and it's only commercial port. It has a turbulent history, only becoming part of Lithuania in 1923. Previously the city was German and known as Memel. It was annexed by Hitler in March 1939, and was ruled by him until January 1945 when the city fell to the Red Army. It was the Soviet Union's only ice-free Baltic port, and was closed to Westerners until 1986.

"Trakai is a historic city and lake resort in Lithuania. It lies 28 km west of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Because of its proximity to Vilnius, Trakai is a popular tourist destination. Trakai is the administrative centre of Trakai district municipality. The town covers 11.52 km2 of area and, according to 2007 estimates, is inhabited by 5,357[1] people. A notable feature of Trakai is that the town was built and preserved by people of different nationalities. Historically, communities of Karaims, Tatars, Lithuanians, Russians, Jews and Poles lived here."

Trakai Island Castle is located in Trakai, Lithuania on an island on the shores of Lake Galvė. The construction of the stone castle was begun in the 14th century. Trakai was one of the main centers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance. Trakai Castle is an excellent example of Gothic architecture. The staterooms of the palace are decorated with stained-glass and mural paintings, representing the scenes of the life of Grand Duke and his family. Some of these can be seen in other photos on my photostream.
