This was part of the private collection of cacti and succulents at Manor Nursery, Angmering, West Sussex. The collection was started in 1948. The nursery is now gone. The collection has been dispersed to various new locations.

Per ottenere delle buone fioriture è necessario curare bene la pianta e mantenerla in piena luce anche durante i periodi di riposo vegetativo

Curiosità: Sono conosciute anche come “sassi viventi”, visto che il loro nome deriva da lithos (pietra) e opsis, che significa aspetto.

Lithops are a genus of succulent plants from southern Africa with leaves mimicking the stones amongst which they grow in the desert. They sport big, yellow or white daisy-like flowers in season, each large enough to shade its compact leaves.
