Lithops, not in the wild but in a conservation centre near Helmeringhausen

Lithops pseudotruncatella ssp. volkii

Seedlings at one month old are just starting to get the first flush of red that this species is known for.

Unknown - Can anyone identify this one?

This was part of the private collection of cacti and succulents at Manor Nursery, Angmering, West Sussex. The collection was started in 1948. The nursery is now gone. The collection has been dispersed to various new locations.

It growed well, divided into two stems, and even flowered, but one day it died...

I would like to see white flower in few years.

the seedlings from 11th April 2013 are doing well and this one came into flower yesterday

Uma filhotinha! Esta foi a única que sobreviveu. Foram semeadas em torno de vinte sementes. Nasceram apenas duas.

Lithops in habitat almost never have more than one leaf pair per head, the environment is just too arid to support this. Yellow or white flowers emerge from the fissure between the leaves after the new leaf pair has fully matured, one per leaf pair.
