Sunrise at City Hall

Viewed from Strand Hotel rooftop on Ennis Road.

Limerick's magic permeates the expansiveness, from the babbling brook that harbors mysterious water nymphs to the ancient ruins where spirits linger. From the flickering glow of will-o'-the-wisps, playful whimsy and a touch of darkness intertwines.

UNDER THE SHANNON RIVER, LIMERICK, IRELAND

Very fast flowing water through Limerick City.

Drove from Knoxville to Nashville. Stayed overnight at Motel 6 by the airport (would not recommend). Flew up to Toronto on Swoop Airlines (from BNA) and we got picked up by Beth's Dad.

Then we drove up to the Limerick Lake Lodge & Marina. Switched vehicles; taking his Pontoon boat to the family cottage.

Spent a few days enjoying the sunny and cooler temps. Visited some family in Toronto on July 10th.

Stayed overnight in Mississauga at the Quality Inn by Choice Hotels on Airport Road. Flew back to Nashville on July 11th.

Drove home, but stopping at the newly-opened Buc-ee's location in Crossville.

My Father-in-Law took us out on a Pontoon boat ride over to Dark Lake. A wonderful start to our trip!

Limerick is a city in county Limerick, Ireland. It is located in the Mid-West Region and is also part of the province of Munster. Limerick City and County Council is the local authority for the city. The city lies on the River Shannon, with the historic core of the city located on King's Island, which is bounded by the Shannon and the Abbey River. Limerick is also located at the head of the Shannon Estuary where the river widens before it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. With a population of 95,854 (2011 census), Limerick is the third most populous city in the state.

In 812 the Vikings sailed up the Shannon and pillaged the city, burned the monastery of Mungret but were forced to flee when the Irish attacked and killed many of their number.[11] The Normans redesigned the city in the 12th century and added much of the most notable architecture, such as King John's Castle and St Mary's Cathedral.
