HELLO 👋, MY NAME IS BART ROS. And I am an architecture, interior and city photographer working in the Deventer and Overijssel region.

Check out my website at:

And I am an architecture, interior and city photographer working in the Deventer and Overijssel region. You can find me almost daily on the IJssel or in the historic streets of our Hanseatic cities in the Netherlands. Busy bringing you unique images. We can use these images together for marketing purposes and online media. In addition, I make books and calendars of my photography, I teach and I have fun photo walks several times a year.

As a photographer I am based in Deventer; a beautiful historic city, surrounded by nature. The result of my love for photography and the city of Deventer is the 'Deventer calendar' with 12 unique photos and city views of Deventer and the surrounding area. And a book about Deventer with even more unique images called "Extraordinary Deventer 2: Deventer and Surroundings".

I am originally a multimedia engineer and graphic designer, but since a few years I have also focused on photography. From a young age I have always been drawing, painting and taking apart radios, TVs and old cameras. I combine these technical and form-technical interests in my professional life by developing websites, graphic design and photography. As a photographer I can capture the world as I see it.

Nothing is as it seems..

Like an inert laminar newtonian fluid, the reflection of light dilutes on a harmonic wavy state of continuum.

For the observer it seems as the light has been set to motion.

Everything is deceptively relativistic.

Distortion through refraction.

This was an extremely rare sighting of Crocodilus Cirrocumulus, the ever-elusive (and always hungry) Cloud Croc. I almost missed it, but luckily, I looked up at the right moment and was able to capture the moment when it was about to nibble on (or rather take a hearty bite of) the roof of Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus (MELH), a prominent building in Berlin's government district. I'm not sure where in terms of culinary quality MELH is placed but the Cloud Croc must have changed its mind at the last minute because the roof is still intact. Maybe this particular specimen didn't like the taste of modern architecture or the materials used in the construction (Cloud Crocs are known for their extremely sensitive sense of smell)... Well, we will never know but at least my photo is proof that Crocodilus Cirrocumulus exists.

This is some minimalist cloud creature fun for Sliders Sunday, another oldie that I wanted to upload for a long time but always forgot about when I returned to my newest images in LR. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess. When I took the photo, I didn't even notice the croc (or maybe dragon or snake, what do you see?) but thought that the cloud (cirrocumulus, I'd say) looked as if it had been shaped by the roof. It was a quick snap before the cloud changed its shape and the creature was gone.

I'd processed the photo a long time ago, and only added some "Brilliance and Warmth" to it in Color Efex yesterday when I decided it was finally time for an upload. So, unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the previous processing steps. I think I enhanced the clarity and did some denoising before, and I'm sure other stuff as well because almost all my images are post-processed (often a lot) because I enjoy processing as much as photography itself.

The floating Apple store, with the Central Business District in the background. From afar Singapore may look like any modern metropolis, but that impression fades away once you walk the streets and parks of this magnificent city. The Park Connector Network, a series of walking and biking trails, comprehensively links the city's parks and green spaces, so much so that one can walk all around the island if one has the time. Even the skyscrapers are adorned with manicured hanging gardens, that soften the look of steel and glass towers, and create a soothing and inviting environment. Singapore is an outstanding example of what thoughtful and creative urban planning should be.
