Dentro del Parque Nacional discurren un total de 30 sendas homologadas de Pequeño Recorrido (PR), cubriendo las áreas más representativas de este espacio natural: valles glaciares, hayedos, robledales, bosques mixtos, avellanares, encinares, prados de fondo de valle, pastizales alpinos, lagos glaciares, crestas, peñas, picos, etc. Hay innumerables rutas de alta montaña, por ejemplo a los pies del pico Torrecerredo (2.648 m) y 200 otros picos y montañas que superan los 2.000 metros de altitud.

Hace mucho tiempo...en el Pleistoceno Superior, hace 100.000 años, un impresionante glaciar con lenguas de hielo de más de 20 kilómetros sirvió de origen al actual Lago de Sanabria y su entorno. Hoy, sus 318 hectáreas de superficie y una profundidad que alcanza hasta 51 metros, lo convierten en el mayor lago glaciar de la Península Ibérica.

Long ago ... in the Late Pleistocene, 100,000 years ago, a magnificent glacier with ice served more than 20 kilometers to the current source Sanabria Lake and its environment. Today, its 318 hectares and a depth of up to 51 meters, making it the largest glacial lake in the Iberian Peninsula.

The lights were on in this old Gazebo in our local community. The new blossoms on the white and pink Ornamental Cherry tree had just recently opened and were displayed against the lights in early evening.
Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. Es un insecto de tamaño mediano de aproximadamente 4 a 6 cm, con un tórax largo y unas antenas delgadas. Tiene dos grandes ojos compuestos y tres ojos sencillos entre ellos. La cabeza puede girar hasta 180º. Sus patas delanteras, que mantiene recogidas ante la cabeza, están provistas de espinas para sujetar a sus presas.
Son animales solitarios excepto en la época de reproducción, cuando macho y hembra se buscan para aparearse. Cuando hay más de un macho cerca de una hembra, éstos se pelean y sólo uno se reproduce. Las hembras son mayores que los machos. En raras ocasiones, durante y tras el apareamiento la hembra se come al macho.
Puede ser de color verde o pardo con distintos matices. El color del adulto lo determina el del medio en el que habita durante su última muda (por ejemplo, amarillo, si se trata de paja seca, o verde, si es hierba fresca).
Es el único animal conocido que cuenta con un único oído, y lo tiene localizado en el tórax. (Fuente Wikipedia)

No importa quiénes seamos, dónde estemos o lo que hagamos, todos dependemos del agua. La necesitamos todos los días, de muchas maneras, para gozar de salud, producir alimentos, para transportarnos, para la irrigación y la industria. También la necesitamos para los animales y las plantas, para dar vida a la naturaleza y para el cambio de las estaciones. Sin embargo, a pesar de la importancia que el agua tiene sobre nuestras vidas y nuestro bienestar, cada vez la respetamos menos. Abusamos de ella. El embalse de Barrios de Luna es un embalse situado en la comarca leonesa de Luna en España. Toma su nombre del pueblo que se sitúa a los pies del muro de contención: Los Barrios de Luna.
El proyecto fue redactado entre 1935 y 1936 por el Ingeniero de la Confederación Hidrográfica del Duero D. Luis de Llanos y Silvela.
Fue inaugurado oficialmente en 1956 para poder establecer zonas de regadío en la zona del Páramo Leonés y la comarca del Órbigo. Las aguas del Luna, se unen con el río Omaña para pasar a denominarse desde ese momento río Órbigo.

Hasta aquí eran transportados, mediante un cable aéreo, los minerales de cobre y cobalto extraídos en la mina La Profunda, de Cármenes, para su tratamiento. Un mes antes del tristemente célebre bombardeo de Guernica, en abril de 1937, los aviones de la Legión Cóndor bombardearon las instalaciones, reduciéndolas a escombros.
Dos parecen ser los motivos que indujeron a la aviación alemana a bombardear esta fábrica: la destrucción de una planta de tratamiento mineral considerada de alto valor estratégico para la República, y su ensayo como ejercicio práctico de otros ataques, sobre todo en zona asturiana.
La famosa Legión Cóndor fue una fuerza militar de intervención, principalmente aérea, creada por la Alemania nazi en 1936 para ayudar al general Franco durante la Guerra Civil. Al mando de la misma estuvo, como Jefe de Estado Mayor, W. von Richtoffen, primo del legendario aviador alemán conocido por el sobrenombre de “El barón rojo”. Dispuso de casi un centenar de aviones, entre Junkers, Heinkels y Messerschmitt, siendo La Virgen del Camino su base para las operaciones del frente del norte. Su presencia en territorio español se mantendría hasta marzo de 1939.

El río Urredera (Agua bonita), nace cerca del pueblo navarro de Baquedano, y es una salida natural a los acuíferos que se forman en el terreno y macizo kárstico de la sierra de Urbasa. Sus aguas contienen mucho sedimento calcáreo que se va depositando en el lecho del río, y que unido a sus aguas cristalinas refleja el entorno así como el cielo, dando lugar al color único de us aguas.
Urredera River (beautiful water), born near the village of Baquedano Navarre, and is a natural outlet to aquifers that form in the field and karstic massif of the Sierra de Urbasa. Its waters contain much calcareous sediment is deposited in the river bed, and that together with its crystal clear water reflects the surroundings and the sky, leading us to the unique color of water.

Forma parte de un conjunto de lagunas esteparias, que son un pequeño oasis de vida en el páramo. Esta laguna se encuentra cerca de la localidad de Valdepolo en León. Mantiene sus niveles de agua sin dificultad y es utilizada por numerosas aves. Sus aguas son poco profundas y en primavera el conjunto formado por las aguas, juncos hierbas, reflejos, suele ser muy interesante.

Los coccinélidos (Mariquitas), son insectos pequeños, con un tamaño reducido que va de 5 a 8 milimetros. De forma redondeada u oval, brillantes, suelen ser de vivos colores, con manchas negras sobre un fondo naranja, amarillo o rojo, en forma de puntos o rayas (no es un caparazón sino gruesas alas transformadas, llamadas élitros, que protegen las alas funcionales para el vuelo, el segundo par). Algunas especies son peludas. Su cabeza, antenas y patas son negros. Las extremidades cortas. El impacto social ha sido enorme, puesto que los embalses supusieron la destrucción de más de quinientos pueblos, que se encuentran actualmente bajo el agua. Las barreras artificiales alteran los ecosistemas fluviales desde la cabecera de los ríos hasta su desembocadura; modifican el proceso natural de erosión y transporte de sedimentos, el régimen de caudales y la calidad del agua; obstaculizan el movimiento natural de la flora y la fauna autóctonas y favorecen la adaptación de especies no deseadas.
Spain is one of the countries with the largest number of reservoirs for territory and inhabitants. The social impact has been enormous, since the reservoirs involved the destruction of more than five hundred people, who are currently underwater. Artificial barriers alter river ecosystems from the head of the river to its mouth; modify the natural process of erosion and sediment transport, the flow regime and water quality, impede the natural movement of flora and fauna and favor the adaptation of unwanted species.
Taken during pouring rainstorm in downtown Vancouver where I went to take some photos of Christmas decorations. The fountains were amazing and the lights behind them also. Photo includes windows and their reflection of the outside and inside lights.

A crystal clear blue sunrise over the Pacific Ocean, Bronte Beach, Sydney. The sky was almost cloud free and the sun was creating a white glow which was reflecting on the ocean and the seashore.

La luz del crepúsculo inunda esta laguna, poseedora de algunas leyendas...
Según los lugareños, una noche que pasaba una carreta de bueyes cerca de la orilla comenzó a meterse en la laguna cada vez más , hasta que el cieno lo cubrió totalmente...y allí se quedó para siempre.
También cuentan que una pastora babiana que trabajaba para una familia de linaje, y al mismo tiempo de cuidar del ganado en la pradería , hacía de nodriza del niño. Tras darle de mamar lo dejó confiada a la sombra de un espino, pero una enorme serpiente olió a la criatura terminando por meterla en su boca. La pastora que apenas vio la cola de la Serpiente: toda desesperada empezó a echar de sus entrañas juramentos y maldiciones , los cuales fueron escuchados por la providencia, que de los arroyos de la Zona empezó a brotar agua en tal cantidad que dio lugar a formar La Gran Laguna que los visitantes contemplan...

Esta foto tomada a la Cascada de Sotillos esta primavera, representa la esencia y energía de uno de los elementos vitales de la naturaleza: el agua. Es mi aportación particular en honor a esos hombres y mujeres amantes y defensores de la tierra. Elijo esta música de Sacred Spirit “Yeha-Noha” que significa “deseos de felicidad y prosperidad”, cantada por un anciano de la tribu Navajo llamado Kee Chee Jake.
Los nativos norteamericanos son un ejemplo de interrelación con todos los elementos naturales. Y uno de los documentos más importantes y representativos relacionados con el respeto al medio ambiente es el Discurso del Jefe Indio Seattle dado en enero de 1854. Extracto lo siguiente: “¿Quién puede comprar o vender el cielo o el calor de la tierra?. Esa idea es para nosotros extraña. Ni el frescor del aire, ni el brillo del agua son nuestros… Somos una parte de ella, y la flor perfumada, el ciervo, el caballo, el águila majestuosa, son nuestros hermanos. Las escarpadas montañas, los prados húmedos, el cuerpo sudoroso del potro y el hombre..., todos pertenecen a la misma familia… El agua cristalina, que corre por los arroyos y los ríos no es sólo agua, es también la sangre de nuestros antepasados… De hecho, los ríos son nuestros hermanos. Nos libran de la sed, arrastran nuestras canoas y nos procuran alimento. Cada imagen que reflejan las claras aguas de los lagos son el recuerdo de los hechos que ocurrieron y la memoria de mis gentes. El murmullo del agua es la voz del padre de mi padre…”

And one of the most important and representative documents related to respect the environment is the Indian Chief Seattle's speech given in January 1854. Extract the following: "Who can buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the earth?. That idea is strange to us. Neither the fresh air or the water sheen is our ... We are a part of it, and fragrant flower, the deer, the horse, the great eagle are our brothers. The rugged mountains, wet meadows, the body sweaty ... pony, and man all belong to the same family ... The clear water running through streams and rivers is not just water, is also the blood of our ancestors ... In fact, the rivers are our brothers. La zona de costa que va desde cabo Villano hasta Camelle pasando por el cementerio de los ingleses, es una trozo del litoral de singular Belleza, pero tambien ostenta el record en naufragios de la zona. Barcos como El Brigneti, El Hildur, El Avon Blancy, El Carlton, El Black Arrow, El Luz, Valle Hermoso, El Banora, El Dique Flotante, El Yaga, El Jasmine, El Irish Hull, El H:M:S: Serpent, El Tumbridge, El Tinacria, El Prestan, El Ciampa, El Travessie, El Olimpye, El Begoña, son só.lo algunos de los muchos naufragios en estas aguas, siendo especialmente dramático el naufragio del Serpent.
The area of coast from Cabo Villano to Camelle through the British Cemetery, is a piece of the coast of singular beauty, but also holds the record shipwrecks in the area. El Nacedero del Urederra, situado al norte de Estella-Lizarra, es la salida natural del acuífero formado en el macizo kárstico de Urbasa. La primera surgencia se produce en un cortado a 700 metros de altitud en el reborde meridional del macizo, originando una impresionante caída de más de 100 metros que con el transcurso de millones de años ha modelado un anfiteatro rocoso de notable belleza.
The Source of the Urederra, located north of Estella, is the natural outlet of the aquifer formed in the karstic of Urbasa. The first upwelling occurs in a cut to 700 meters in the southern edge of the massif, creating a stunning drop of over 100 meters with over millions of years has shaped a rocky amphitheater of remarkable beauty.

La majade de Vegabaño es uno de los lugares más hermosos de los Picos de Europa leoneses. La ruta a la Majada de Vegabaño, de unos 3 kilómetros de longitud, parte de la zona alta de Soto de Sajambre, tras dejar a nuestra izquierda la fuente y el lavadero. El camino es bueno y se interna rápidamente en un imponente bosque de hayas, ascendiendo paralelo al río Aguera.

The majade of Vegabaño is one of the most beautiful places in the Picos de Europa Leon. The route to the sheepfold of Vegabaño, about 3 kilometers long, the upper part of Soto de Sajambre, after leaving to our left the source and the sink. The road is good and goes fast in a towering beech forest, ascending along the river Aguera.

Casi todo los años en el mes de Septiembre, nos damos una vuelta por Picos de Europa y subimos a pernoctar al Refugio de Collado Jermoso. Siempre intentamos ver la puesta de so,l que algunos años es increíble. El pasado año hemos tenido la suerte de tener un tiempo fantástico, e incluso de poder poder pisar nieve en algunos tramos de nuestro ascenso. A la puesta del sol, tal como suele hacer en Septiembre, la niebla cubrió el valle de Valdeón, dejándonos ver como los últimos rayos de sol se esparramaban por la superficie del mar de nubes, pero en los últimos minutos alguna nube detrás de Peña Santa resto luz solar y la niebla ascendía delante de nosotros creando magia y llenándose de luz y de color.
Almost every year in the month of September, we give a tour of the Picos de Europa and proceeded to spend the night at Refugio Collado Jermoso. We always try to watch the so, l some years is amazing. Last year we have been fortunate to have a fantastic time, and even be able to step on snow in some sections of our ascent. At sunset, as usually done in September, mist covered valley Valdeón, letting us see as the last rays of sun esparramaban by sea surface clouds, but in the last few minutes behind a cloud Peña Santa remaining sunlight and fog rose before us creating magic and filled with light and color.

The streets were nearly silent—no honking, no rush: just soft night air and glowing decorations lining the road. At first glance, they looked like Christmas lights… but it's spring. These aren't for Christmas at all. In Uzbekistan, such light displays often celebrate Navruz, the Persian New Year, which marks the arrival of spring. It's one of the region's most important holidays, rooted in pre-Islamic Zoroastrian traditions and still widely celebrated with festivals, food, and music.

Los geógrafos que han estudiado Tierra de Campos siempre han destacado su inconfundible, significativa e individualizada personalidad, apreciable tanto en sus rasgos fisiográficos, como en sus caracteres económicos, que la diferencian de forma nítida de otros espacios de la Península Ibérica. Pero no todos han coincidido en aplicarle el mismo apelativo genérico. Algunos utilizan el calificativo región natural, al fijarse esencialmente en su configuración externa, modelada por el relieve, el clima y la vegetación, justificando el empleo de este término por la homogeneidad de su aspecto, de su relieve pronunciadamente nivelado, por la uniformidad de su paisaje, de sus producciones y condición de vida, ya que que el concepto de región natural implica una porción de territorio determinada por circunstancias especiales de relieve, suelo, clima, paisaje y vegetación que guardan entre sí una relación y que merced a sus recíprocas influencias vienen a presentar un aspecto de unidad geográfica, con fisonomía y caracteres propios que la individualizan y diferencian de los países que la rodean.

El cráter de Ngorongoro es una de las mayores calderas volcánicas del mundo. Se formó cuando un volcán gigantesco explotó y se colapsó hace dos o tres millones de años. La caldera es un enorme cuenco con paredes de más de 600 metros de altura, cubiertas de bosques, más un suelo llano y fértil de unos 260 km2 de extensión. Este particular mundo natural se organiza en varios ecosistemas –bosques, sabanas, lagos y pantanos, charcas saladas, tierras áridas…–, encajados en un área que no supera los 20 kilómetros de diámetro.
