though it was cloudy, it was pretty warm and humid. it wasn't as gloomy as it looks.

Since Fort Tryon is the higest natural elevation in Manhatten each section of the park is filled with steps and bridges (designed by the son of Central Parks designer). Just to the right of the photo... the mens room!
