Santa is lots of fun to work with! He takes a few weeks out of his busy schedule to accompany me on photo shoots, both at Riverview and in peoples homes.
week.23 : Taken during a trek along the Genesee Riverway Trail (or Genesee Valley Greenway Trail), which use to be part of Lehigh Valley Railroad's Rochester branch. The Xerox Building is directly ahead, with the Bausch & Lomb Building to the left. I like how the dark lightposts stand out from the foliage (in IR).

It has been some time since I posted anything. This past weekend, I took out my 2 new additions to shoot in NYC. My beautiful 10 week old daughter, Allyn Lily and my new Sigma 8-16mm.
While taking care of her limited the number of shots I was able to squeeze off, I was able to find one or two I liked. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed taking it!

a side view of this 1950s Jewel, taken from the adjacent parking lot. The parking light posts looked quite old-they were very narrow in diameter compared to most light post standards. The fixtures on top also seemed old. Wondering if these are originals?
The streetlight gives an instant clue as to where this photo was taken. Joliet began installing these signature light posts in the wake of the 1966-68 construction of the new City Hall & Will County Courthouse. They were then installed throughout the greater downtown area over the next four years.
Before that lightpost had its nightly illummination on, at the Santos Beach Gardens, Brazil, an apparent 'dove story' had already begun on it.
I love all the little details around every Disney park for the holidays, like this simple garland wrapped festively around the lamp post at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Taken at the Capitol Building in Jefferson City, MO on 4/17/12
I'm really aching for a wider lens. There are, as you might guess, only about a million steps leading up to the doors of the building, and I was standing at the very bottom and still only barely got Jefferson and the lightpost in the frame at 18mm.
This means I simply must be gifted the 10-24mm. Pretty please. :)
