2018 Light Night Leeds West Yorkshire UK (04-10-18 / 05-10-18)
Light Night Leeds is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals. Over two special nights the city centre is transformed by spectacular light projections, interactive artworks and captivating performances by local, national and international artists. On Light Night you will discover over 60 arts events across ten zones in the city centre; from large-scale light projections and interactive artworks, to music, dance and street performances. This year Light Night Leeds celebrates the themes of progress and innovation, kicking off with a vibrant illuminated parade celebrating 100 years of social change since (some) women got the vote.
The Leeds Library, one of the city’s hidden treasures, will be the backdrop for a celebration of Leeds suffragettes, Leonora Cohen and Mary Gawthorpe, and a fearsome and fiery dragon will be making an appearance on the Queens Hotel! So, bring your family and friends along to experience a fantastic festival atmosphere and see the city in a new light!

Done with a long exposure and a lighter.
I was practicing light painting with the fire of my lighter.
The model is Violet LeBeaux.

The pink tint is from using the lighting effects filter. This reminds me a little of some of the old tinted photographs except that the chemical quality is missing

Backlighting the model with the Bliss 50 then front lighting with the red/green Starry Starry Night gives this stunning effect. All of these projectors are available on our web site at www.LasersandLights.com

Light Night Leeds is the UK’s largest annual arts and light festival. This spectacular two night event takes over Leeds city centre, transforming it into a dreamland with more than 60 dazzling installations and performances from local, national and international artists.
This year’s event starts with a magnificent procession of illuminated dancers, drummers, monsters and marionettes that will bring dreams to life on the streets of Leeds, celebrating this year’s theme of Mind, Body and Spirit. The parade takes place on Thursday, October 10 at 7.30pm and will mark the official opening of this year's two-night extravaganza.
A full Light Night Leeds 2019 Festival Guide will be available to buy in the lead up and during the event for £2 at venues across the city centre including Leeds Visitor Centre
This is a mixture of relatively clear photos of light displays, and a few interesting effects caused when the driver had to accelerate when someone came up behind us on the road. #Christmas #ChristmasLights #Xmas #XmasLights
Practice session with a borrowed diamante bracelet/cuff to try different macro/lighting effects with my new Kenko extension tube and 50mm lens. Cuff was lit from the side by an Eveready Dolphin torch.
Scale: cuff is approx 3cm wide, so each crystal just under 3mm across.
Equipment: Nikon D200, Nikor 50mm f/1.8 lens, Kenko extension tube 36mm, hand-held
I like to collect unique Christmas ornaments and decorations. This reindeer and sleigh is mounted on the glass mirror. I used several different angles and lighting effects. This one has more natural background reflected light off of a dark blue cloth surface. I can't decide which of the three I like better. Any comments?

No time today, as I got in, sat down to have a drink and flick through the Radio Times, with the intention of getting up and doing some work, but instead fell asleep! So I am now hurriedly ordering new kit for swimming (as I teach as well as swim, I figure that this is actually an essential task rather than just procrastination!) before doing some Hamletting and German :D And going to teach some lifesaving...and eating...agh!
