Putting together a Photography/Lighting class for the spring. Trying to see if there is any interest out there. It would be held in West Chester, PA and Philly over 2 days. The class would be concentrating on the techniques I use for studio and outdoor lighting, along with some post production tips. 10-15 people max. GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!!

"Lighting the Way:" It was raining so hard a few days ago, that trying to get long-exposure lightning shots while keeping the lens dry became a very challenging feat. Here is one just as the sun was setting (the blips of color in the background, which you can't see so well with all the clouds and rain in the foreground)!

The small lighthouse at Chanonry Point, The Black Isle, nr Inverness, Scotland. Best place in the world to see dolphins from a beach it also has some stunning light early and late in the day. Fort George in the back ground with the sunrising just behind.

Best Viewed large On Black
A funny thing happened on the way to the colosseum.
We had explored around Rome during the day, up to the forum and through the many ancient remains that had been preserved for all to enjoy. It was overcast and a storm threatened throughout the afternoon.
During the early evening the storm had subsided and the lights had been turned on to illuminate the ancient arches with a golden glow and another white spot light caught the top of the second to third tier and top tier lit by smallel floodlights.
Everything came together in this beautiful photograph of the ancient colosseum.
The dark clouds and lighting produced an image similar to HDR.
This image has not been photoshopped. It is one of many of Rome.
What a wonderful result for the engineers or lighting specialists who designed the lighting for this magnificient monument.
Area in Rome: IV Templum Pacis (Latin, "Temple of Peace")
It took its name from the temple built in the region by Vespasian. It includes the valley between the Esquiline and the Viminal hills, the popular area of the Subura (the Roman suburbs) and the Velian Hill (the hill between the Palatine and the Oppian Hill, removed in the early 20th century to make way for the via dei Fori Imperiali, the street passing between the Forum Romanum and the Forum of Augustus).

Lovely lighting in this shot but then what would you expect next to the Lighting Superstore. Taken in Melksham, Wiltshire.
This image was captured in color using my Canon 40D and EF24-105 lens. During my processing of the color version, I added multiple textures, which created the mottled background when I converted to B/W using NikSilverEfex.
Sunlight filters it's way through the tree canopy to the dark, cool canyon floor.

LADAKH : Day 6
Peeking up sunset through the prayer flags ~ Himalayan Indus River, Ladakh
This is the last image of the 6th day series during my tour in Ladakh.
I took this picture from a bridge right on the Indus river that covered by prayer flags, near Stakna monastery. I tried closer to the flags, framing the setting sun right between the flags so it will be bring us closer to the feeling of peace.
The prayer flags have sacred mantras written on them. Ladakhis believe that when the wind blows, the mantra from prayer flags is carried on and distributed in the air, bringing good karma and lighting their way.
