It's always nice to spend time by the Nubble lighthouse and this last time was even nicer , as I had the opportunity to meet some other photographers there and spend some time just exchanging photo tips .. :)

Had a little fun with this one. I have always wanted to shoot a lighthouse with the lightbeams but never had the opportunity. So yesterday I added some lightbeams to this image to see how it looked. Let me know what you think.

Still operational, continuously since 1881, this 20 metre high cast iron tower, (33m including small rise it is erected on) with 50 watt lamp flashing every 8 seconds, can be seen 35km out to sea.

During low tide the sea leaves a shallow water channel on the beach. This makes for nice reflection of the La Coubre lighthouse atop the sand dune.
