I got this semi-antique light fixture from JF Pegan on eBay (eBay id jfpegan or they have a website, www.jfpegan.com). The one up-one down part is antique, but the wiring, glass shades, the hanging pole and maybe the canopy are new. I plan to get another, similar one to replace the other hall light.
The Main Ballroom at the hotel has giant light fixtures with these glass shades over hundreds of little light bulbs. The effect is amazing.
As soon as the water was added, it tipped over and spilt it out. Oops, we should have known that would happen.
In the waiting room of my mechanic, bored stiff waiting for them to finish my car, I began shooting pics of various things. I noticed that there were bugs in the fluorescent lights, and then noticed that 5 out of the 7 bugs were dead roaches...I'm just sayin'....
One of many gorgeously decadent crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling of the Melbourne Pavilion, an atmospheric 'events / weddings / occasions' venue in Kensington (www.melbournepavilion.com.au/). Was there last night attending RAW Melbourne.
Aside from these chandeliers, the other fascinating thing inside the Deco-era former Burge Bros Factory were the glue-laminated arches, which are the oldest known surviving example of glue-laminated timber construction in Australia. UPDATE: We just went by and ALL the shades are removed, from every room that is visible. Someone got some pretty cool shades or sold them, I suppose. I would of course, loved to have had one.
I can't tell if this light shade is glass or stainless steel. No matter, I sure would like to have one. This is an 10 story abandoned hotel in downtown Texarkana.
We ate at the new (to our area) Cheesecake Factory the other day... No kids' menu, just ok food and WAY overpriced. Even the photo didn't really justify $78 for lunch (no drinks and no dessert).
OK...Here's the thing. I live in north Texas. There is a huge flock of sea gulls in south Garland. They have blown up here from the beaches of Gulf of Mexico via many hurricanes. They have several area lakes they home in on, mostly Lake Ray Hubbard, in south Garland. But once you get into the Mesquite/Garland area, you may see them anywhere. I snapped a few really BAD shots while I was waiting for a friend to meet me for lunch. They were perched on the light fixtures out in the Mall parking lot.
I need a better zoom lens. I love all birds, but I especially love gulls and pigeons.

This image is just cropped..no other processing - pretty fuzzy, but somehow it works for me, anyway.
